Part 6: Arcanum

When one thinks of warriors, the name of Mego Stone is the first to come to mind. In much the same way, when mages are sought, Arcanum is first among equals. Considered by many a legend in his own time, his magic skills often frightened the mundanes he protected. Not wishing to cause discomfort, and seeking privacy to continue his studies, he moved to the wilderness near Cove. There, he used his magic to carve a tower out of the ground. Even when the orcs became more aggressive, they kept their distance from the arch-magus' tower.

Even the distant tower did not provide the solitary setting Arcanum wanted. With Phandel and Balinor, he moved to Magincia, setting up a magocracy there. At some point, Arcanum came into possession of the Orb of Truth, an item whose true importance was not realized for some time.
