Because it's phun!

I don't play tournaments anymore. The egos in KC were getting out of hand and I was watching a woman destroy her life with the game and a man that wouldn't fix his own life before worrying if he had the most killer deck or the most DCI points in the city.

I only play for fun now.

and the xbox magic sucked so, I dont play that anymore either!

ps I may have named all the wrong cards, theres umpteen billion of them anymore and with so many effects its hard to remember everything. But just for old times sake, I will say this:

That's not very many cards :D

I've got about 6k lying around with at least that much invested in it over the years.

Are you refering to "Denying Wind" look through a players library and remove 7 cards? Yes, every combo deck stops working if you remove the combo :P . But those nasty combo players play all sorts of counters, or maybe some of the judgement wishes. (hehe some decks activly sought to remove cards form the game so they can be wished for)

As for obliterate, are you refering to in the type 1 deck? you can obliterate all you want. Obliterate says destroy, and the Darksteel Forge makes every artifact I own indestructible. The mechanic indestructible says destroy effects don't work, the only way to remove an indestructible item from play is to remove it from the game, force it to be sacrificed, state based effects (Zero defence = dead), or bounce. (hehe bounce the Forge in response to the disk then we just reset the game)

FYI I hate control decks.

My favorite deck this week is Sneak Attack, hehe Doublestrike is fun (and almost banned in our group. I had to remove my Dragon tyrants' from the deck so I wouldn't have to play against a Soul Foundry with Laquatus's Champion or Phantom Nishoba Imprinted on it)

Honestly Scott I dont have a clue what those cards are called anymore and that just shows you when the last time I played magic was lol. Though I've been contemplating playing again because I actually found someone around here that still plays. I just hate spending so much freakin money on it, if I had all the money i've put into magic the gathering I'd beable to buy myself a car, not a brand new car but a car none the less lol I have a type of deck I like to play, which if I could build it with the new cards that are out and have it be legal, atleast for the few months it would be before a new set would be released and something in it made illegal I probably would make it. I used to play a real fun blue/white deck, blue would counter/control/deck dismantle while the white was for creatures (Serra Angel & Warrior Angel, and other misc angels mainly) and life gaining enchantments and spells, one big card was the Phrexian Processor, the way I gained life with that deck I could easily Produce 60/60 Minion Tokens (cuz you gotta sacrifice life for that card), and have Serra Avatars with triple digit attack/defense scores. I played that type of deck to the point of lunacy, the final incarnation of it before I quit..I hadnt lost with it in over 60 some games, and the poeple I play with most dont play by the torney rules bullcrap they play with now, it was more or less follow the restriction rules, follow the banned rules, and play with whatever cards you had!

I remember my processor deck that was before 6th edition rules so I would pay all my live then make a token I had angelic Chours on the board (when a creature comes into play under your control, you gain life equal too its toughness) Chorus was also fun with Serra's avatar.

Hehe some might look at this and see this was back when I first started playing.

hmmm I have put together a ravenger deck from the new mtg: darksteel and it is ungodly.

4-Archbound Ravengers
4-Genisis Chambers
4-Archbound Reclaimers
4-Deciples of the vault
1-Tolarian Academy
10-swamps
4-great furnace
4-Darksteel citadel
4-Temple of the false gods
4-Feldon's Cane
4-Dark Rituals
4-Archbound Workers
4-archbound stingers
4-Skull Clamps
4-whispersilk cloaks or Gravediggers

67 Cards total.

It works like this... the genisis chambers gives you a 1/1 token for each creature that comes into play. After you get a few of the Archbound Ravengers into play you sacrifice the tokens to the ravenger.. and place +1/+1 counters on the ravenger for each creature sacrificed this way. All archbound creatrures are artifact creatures and have the modular ability. So basically you wait till you have 2-4 diciples of the vault in play and some skullclamps. Diciple of the vault does 1 damage for every artifact placed into the graveyard. So equip the skull clamp [+1/-1] on some minor creature. The skull clamp alows you to draw a card each time you equip it...so you clamp and sac all the other aritifacts you have to the ravenger causing unblockable damage and building up the ravenger. When the ravengers get strong enough... then you just attach the whispersilk cloak..gives it the "cant be the target of spells or abilites and is unblockable" and just attack.

I also tossed in at random times fireball and savage beating along with Spellbinder. Imprint Savage beating onto the spell binder and you can have an extra combat turn each turn for 4.
