Yeah, I would drop macefighting. Having two melee skills does you no good. You would be better off having anatomy or another skill. I personally like anatomy there because it helps your healing in speed and amount of healing per bandie.

I will drop macefighting, but should I also switch my trade skill to blakcsmith. That way I will be able to repair my armor and weapons. What is the best tradeskill interms of making money because at the moment I am just doing vendor quests in Brit to pay for some of my skills.

Changing to Blacksmithy is a good idea. Not the best way to make gold though. If memory serves, inscription (making scrolls), alchemy (making potions)(except that alchemy isn't a tradeskill), tinkering (making jewelry and repair kits) are the skills which bring in the most gold. I could be wrong though. Personally, I make almost all of my gold by hunting. Hunting. And then hunting some more.

As far as changing Macefighting to Magery, I have never liked the idea because the things you would want magery for, now have better options available. You can use wands, or potions to buff. And with them will get much better buffs than you will get by casting the spells with low magery and invocation. And can go to the Mage NPC's to get a gate.

Remember, everything that I have written here is just my opinion. There might be better options out there. I would hear them all out, and make my choices from there.

Best of Luck!

Good first crack at a template!

Okies, so you got yer weaponskill, tactics and MR primed. Excellent. Seconds include parry and healing, also excellent.

Macefighting does you no good in the secondary, so let's look at some options:

Camping. With 80+ camping your fires burn higher and give off "more heat," which is to say that they will heal you faster and give you back mana faster.

Magery. With 80+ Magery you will be able to gate and buff yourself, but the buffs will be low-end, and as Tristan said, the NPC mages will gate you to a dungeon.

Anatomy. Anatomy increases your chances of getting "critical hits" (hits that do extra damage) and helps with your self-healing. Clearly a popular and well-deserving choice.

Archery. With 80+ Archery you will be able to do some very significant long-range damage to the critters you're fighting. One thing about fighting here is you NEVER want to chase something to kill it. The reason being, if you chase something, you will probably "wake up" more Mobs. With Archery here you won't have to. Also, as you move away from the "younger" hunting areas, you will encounter lots of spell-casters, and they hate archers. :twisted:

I'm sure there are other options, but those are the main ones that come to mind. Best of luck, and parroting Tristan again, these are all my personal opinions.

i would be inclined to say magery or archery for your secondary rather than macing. magery probably give you better bang for the buck because the ability to gate is just too handy. archery is nice also because as atei says you don't want to chase runners most of the time. also being sniped at drives mages mad and they will rush forward to melee which isn't most mages strong point. there are a few mages however who melee very well indeed. titans and black wisps come to mind off the top of my head.
if you want advice simply stand in the bank and say something like "excuse me i have some questions". someone will rez you after you get trampled to death by the horde of eager advisors to be and you can carry on from there. :wink:

Primes:

Magic Resist = 76.7
Tactics = 79.6
Swordsmanship = 83.1

Secondary:

Healing = 63.5
Parry = 62.5
Archery = 60.4

Other:

Magery = 60.0
Camping = 60.0

What I would like to know now is which skill to increase? Also should I bring up my skill in anatonmy (35.1) to 60.0 for a little bonus in terms of critical hits? Any and all suggestions would be very helpful and much appreciated.

training up anatomy is possibly the best first step, it will be cheap (probably around 5k) help your critical hits and help your healing.

As to which of the other skills to increase, probably healing and resist should be first, swords tactics parry and archery will all go up with use though training will speed it up.
