Well, if WoD is going out, we may as well go out with some controversy :P

Hehe, smokin'. :D What's sad is that most Christians don't see Bush's values as completely contrary to their faith. Somehow, somewhere along the line, the Republican party bagged the entire "Religious Right" vote. It boggles my mind. Of course, when people look at the other major candidate, things don't look much better, do they?

This is why I'm going to vote my conscience this November. No more settling for the lesser of two evils. If our country is doomed to have an evil president, then we might as well have pure evil and be done with it. Vote Cthulhu in '04. http://www.cthulhu.org/

Hehehe. Funny thing is I could definitely see that happening.

Problem is not all his values are entirely contradictory to the Christian faith (just like John Kerry isn't the devil incarnate either). The really sad part is that too many people vote not for the best candidate (or the lesser of two evils as some would put it in this case) but for the candidate belonging to the party of their preference. The "I'm Republican therefore I vote Republican" mentality has always struck me as retarded. Some candidates don't even share half their party's political ideology (of course, on the podium they do but their record shows very different). These upcoming elections I encourage to vote not Republican or Democrat, vote for the best man.

Welp, that's democracy for you. You have to make a choice. If you don't vote you're making a choice too (i.e. you're helping one candidate and hurting the other) so there's really no way out of it.

is it just me or have elections gotten nastier over the last 20 years or so?

it's like people are forgetting somehow that they have to live with each other after it's over. whatever happened to reasoned discourse on the issues? instead we get passionate speeches about what the other guy did or didn't do 30 years ago.

my ma floored me completely years ago when i asked her how she decided how to vote. she said her decision was made according to the candidates hair. the guy with the better hair got her vote. at the time i though holy crap she's lost it but i am beginning to think she was right after all.
