Miner's Song
How many of you folks have tried your hand at mining?
or have miners in the family?
Well, you should be able to appreciate the iron-y (haha) of a little ditty I call:
THE MINERS SONG
By Prestorjon of Lake Superior
Zeke was new to mining
But not a stranger to hard work
So his pack was heavy with iron
When he first met Jack the Jerk
Jack said "Welcome to the mines!"
"Though the days are hard and long,
Fellows like me will lighten your load,
As we sing a little Miners Song."
AN EX POR and a
Tra-la-la-la-la
CORP POR, tra-li, CORP POR
If that's not enough to tra your la
We'll do it all once more
Zeke didn't have much but Jack took it all.
He left but turned back quick.
"I don't need this," he said with a sneer
and gave Zeke back his pick.
Time marches on and Zeke's skill grew:
His ingots a rainbow in his pack.
He had a shack and a horse and a boat
But again met the Jerk named Jack.
"You're doing well" said Jack through his sneer,
"But hoarding it's all wrong.
You don't get out to meet us friends
And share our little Miner's Song"
AN EX POR and a
Tra-la-la-la-la
CORP POR, tra-li, CORP POR
If that's not enough to tra your la
We'll do it all once more
"Your loot's getting better," laughed the Jerk,
Rifling the contents of Zeke's pack.
He took every item of value,
But chuckled and threw the pick back.
Zeke took a vacation in Moonglow,
But he soon returned to his place
It was the end of a long day of mining
When Jack the Jerk showed his face.
Jack moved in with his standard sneer,
But Zeke disappeared with a "ping"
Zeke said from behind it's time to share
A song we bounty hunters sing.
AN EX POR and a
Tra-la-la-la-la
CORP POR, tra-li, CORP POR
If that's not enough to tra your la
We'll do it all once more
Zeke emptied the Jerk's pack
Just as soon as he was dead
Gave the body his pick
And took Jack's head
