Player Setup for test server, please read

Post by Agata » Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:10 pm

The server is up and running Monday to Friday 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific Time. Sometimes I will leave it from 11 PM to 4 PM next day, Pacific time too. Weekends it's likely to be up most of the day. Additionally, It might be up at other additional times without notice. Later on we will have a server running 24/7, but for now that's what we will have.

First, you need to send me a PM to request for the login.wod file. I will send it to you along with a username and password for downloading the client and patch.

Next, you need to download Ultima Online Client from our page (PASSWORD PROTECTED PAGE, you should have gotten the username and password from my reply):
http://www.theworldofdreams.com/client/ ... taller.exe

Next you apply the new WoD Patch: http://www.theworldofdreams.com/client/wodpatch.zip
Download it, and extract its contents to your UO folder.

Extract and copy the login.wod file to the UO folder, and you are ready.

Optional: Install UOCartographer (UOAM doesn't support the new map): http://uo.stratics.com/sigs/uocartographer.zip
The server is running already, I hope to see you there :)

Just so you know, the scripts, data file and everything is ready. What is not ready yet is the actual hardware to host it. I will probably have that ready by monday.

We could say I already took over. Unfortunately I don't have administrator access to the forum or web page, so I am not aware if there are any new applications awaiting, and I can't upload stuff to the Files section or anything. For now I will focus on getting the test server up and running.

Getting the server ready is taking a little more than I expected... as I said earlier, nothing to do with the scripts or saved data, but with setting up the host.

I updated the main post with a temporary fix for Windows 7 users. I hope to find a way to automatize this so you don't have to do all of that copying and renaming manually.

Modified the post again, with more simple steps to get the patching done in Windows 7. Now I even give two options.

OSI updated the installer to 7.0.24.0, and for now this version of the installer won't work with the client I prepared, the server won't let you login. I changed the download link for the UO client so you get version 7.0.15.1.

In the following days I will upgrade the patch to the new version.

If you tell me what you did and give me precise information, I can help you.

What installer did you use? Where are you running nwodclient from? If you are you running nwodclient as administrator, try to run it as a normal user.
