Hello
I have been thinking about adding colored logs. We already have the furniture dye tub, but then comes the question... should magical woodland armor be painted with the tub? I personally think it should work like the leather and metal armor.
Also, if I add colored logs, are the default ones ok?
- Oak
- Ash
- Yew
- Heartwood
- Bloodwood
- Frostwood
- Sunwood (unimplemented on OSI)
The hues:
The colored logs
The colored logs

Re: The colored logs
Which end of the spectrum's would the wood be? I think it would be interesting and give some diversity as long as it is not too much trouble for you.
Re: The colored logs
The wood is the whole spectrum, remember it's not a color, it's a hue. The darkest side is for the darkest parts of the item, and the brightest side is for the brightest part of the item.

Re: The colored logs
Those wood colors look good. Sounds like a good idea, please add the colored logs

Re: The colored logs
Yeah those colors look awesome
Re: The colored logs
The colored logs are in. It works similar to mining:
Different kinds of logs have different difficulties in order to chop them:
Normal logs: 0
Oak logs: 65
Ash logs: 80
Yew logs: 95
Heartwood logs: 100
Bloodwood logs: 100
Frostwood logs: 100
Sunwood logs: 100
There is a 25% random chance to have a skill check to determine if you get either normal or colored logs. Different trees give different kinds of colored logs. For the last four kinds of woods, it's not a matter of what kind of tree is it, but the area you are in.
Also, crafting with these logs requires a certain level of carpentry skill to work them:
Normal logs: 0
Oak logs: 60
Ash logs: 75
Yew logs: 90
Heartwood logs: 98
Bloodwood logs: 98
Frostwood logs: 98
Sunwood logs: 98
You can laminate all wooden armors, shields and weapons with these logs.
HINT: I am not very knowledgeable of real world wood colors, but I tried to make it so trees with red wood give Oak logs, and those with light colored wood give Ash logs. Yew trees obviously give Yew logs. Some trees only give normal logs.
