Scroll Crafting

Post by Wolfsong » Tue Oct 18, 2011 6:14 am

I remember being able to make blank scrolls from hides, and I remember that different types of hides would create blank scrolls faster, but higher skill was required, of course. I just can't remember which skill it is. I've tried it with tailoring, lumberjacking, camping, inscription, cooking, wood working and tinkering (all of those skills were 90-110). All I've been able to do is make blank scrolls from normal hides failing a vast majority of the time.

I had the same problem. The skill involved is lumberjacking and you activate it by using a blade on the hide. I use troll hides, partly because I have over 10,000 of them.

I thought it was lumber jacking as well, but I have 110 lumber jacking and constantly fail to make scrolls even using basic hides. I will have to investigate further, I'm probably doing something wrong.

Thanks Chuxton!

** Okay, it is only with normal hides that I have troubles. I can use any other type of hide and create them without a problem, but normal hides I will fail 50-75% of the time.

Yes, you will fail a lot using regular hides, even with 110 lumberjacking. Any other hides are fine.

However, I seem to recall there was a way to "speed craft" scrolls with an added level of difficulty, i.e., an increased failure rate.

The fail rate is high enough if you ask me. Any fails that happen cost me money I would personally rather have it take slightly longer.
