Final Fantasy X-2

Anyone played this game yet? It hasn't come out in the states yet and I'm wondering if it's as good as it looks.

It has got some major differences from FFX just to tell you right off. I haven't played the game but I check games like that by reviews and such. Oh and if you didn't know this all of the charaters that you ever get to play in the game is just Yuna, Rikku, and a new charater that is a female whos name i can't remember.

I believe her name is Paine.

That's alright though, sometimes those games just have too many playable characters.

Well I would probably like FFX over the second one because of the way they managed the charaters in battle. You would be able to switch charaters in battle. But everyone is intitled to there opinion.

Aparantly, with this game based on the job system, you can switch jobs in mid battle. They also have animations for switching jobs. So far all I've been able to picture is Yuna spinning around and lightning crashing ala Lynda Carter in Wonder Woman.

To be perfectly honest, I'm kinda disapointed with this one so far.. If you like the combat stuff then I'm sure you'd like it.. it's pretty fast paced(at least it is for me.) It just feels like playing a mission based puzzle game rather then an FF..

I'm following the strategy guide so I can finish 100% of the game and get the best ending. It's definitley not FFX, but it has it's moments. I don't like the fact that changing costumes on the garment grid is the ony thing you can do to get certain bonuses and abilities. That's more annoying than the draw system from FF8.

I definitly like the turn-based combat system in FFX a lot better than this funky chain combo thing.

Also, haven't we in past job systems been able to select 1 mastered jobs abilities to go with a different job? Like in FF5 or FF Tactics?

I finished it.. I don't even feel like I played an FF in the end.. Granted I didn't get the 100% for the perfect ending.. but I figured I would just play it through with the new game+ to do that. I have to say that Gippal was yummy though. hehe

It doesn't feel like FF for the most part because you don't have the familiar "daaa daaa daaa daaaaaaa, daa daa dat da daaaa." at the end of each battle.

I still like Lulu though.

It was more then just the music! I think it's mostly because of the missions.. It makes the story seem really choppy and/or almost non-existant.. And yes, Lulu is yummy too! hehe

Following the stategy guide kinda helps in that matter. They have a specific order that you do things in so the game seems more linear than when you just fend for yourself.

Another thing that makes it seem less like FF is that you have full access to everywhere in the world right at the start of the game. All other FF games made you work for it and you normally didn't get the airship until 75% of the game was over.

I'm having a hard time bringing myself to the point where I WANT to finish the game. I've got about 87% complete and it's getting really boring. Chocobo training and crap like that.

I have a feeling that in the Game+ that you get to do once you complete the game you continue you completion percentage. I hope anyway. This way you can do some things over and get the good ending instead of having to do all the stupid crappy minigames.

I have a hard time anymore even considering this a Final Fantasy game.

*cough*Told you*cough* And yes you get to keep your % in New game+, as well as all your dress spheres, grids, and items. You don't get to keep your level though.. It just really loses any flavor the other Final Fantasy games had.. And I heard somewhere it's because the new owner of Square doesn't like FF.. So something tells me the future FF games wont be much better..

Well that sucks. Square is around today BECAUSE of Final Fantasy. Enix ticks me off.
