Whilst at the most recent Mage Tower meeting, we discussed at length the idea of having a Scavenger Hunt. Here are just a few of the reasons we came up with for having this event: first, help newer players learn the lands; second, introduce newer players to older players; third, have fun.
All WoDians are invited and welcome to participate. We are trying to come up with an event that will be challenging and exciting (and rewarding). Granted, we aren't the Seers or Admins of WoD who do such a wonderful job of coming up with events that are all of the above and more, but we do have some "unique" ideas we think will add quite a bit to the overall enjoyment of this event.
First, the ground-rules:
1.) Each team will consist of 5 players.
2.) Each team can have no more than 1 Master character.
3.) Each team can have no more than 1 Adept character.
4.) The rest of team elements are up to the teams themselves but we encourage the teams to include as many of our newer members as possible.
5.) Each team will elect a Captain, and that Captain will be given a book of clues along with a bag. The bag is to be used to return the items to the designated character at the designated spot (to be announced later) at the end of the event.
6.) There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We will have a First Place chest, Second Place chest and Third Place chest. The items in those chests can be divided however the winning teams decide.
7.) The object is to be the first team to gather all of the items and return it to the specified person at the specified place; however, if "Realm Business" forces a halt to the Hunt before it is concluded, the Teams with the most items at the time of the stoppage will be designated the winners. Ties will be decided by rolling the dice.
8.) We are asking that the players themselves contribute the winnings to be divided into the 3 chests. Gold, deeds or items are welcome.
9.) The targeted date of the Scavenger Hunt is the weekend of July 11-13, but that may change. Check back here often for updates.
If you have a team that wants to play, please post here the Team Name, the Captain's name, the players and their levels (i.e., Master, Adept, Expert etc).
If you wish to donate to the Prize Fund, please private message me here on the boards or send me an e-mail.
Above all, we want the teams to have fun and emjoy themselves. If you have any suggestions, ideas or comments, please feel free to post them here. Thanks for reading and let's get those teams signed up!
