Entering and removing items from houses that are not yours..

Postby Hunter Keith on Mon Jul 05, 2004 3:25 am

I think this is probably readily obvious to all that this is not acceptable behavior...

so I want to bring this up incase someone thinks it falls into a "Grey Area".

To whomever entered Connor Pope's House of Ore N' Wood on Hyloth Isle, located slightly W by SW of the Hyloth entrance, I personally do not appreciate your stealing all of my ore and ingots and other items from my wooden crate.I didnt/dont macro which means that is all time that I spent, and you stole from me. SHAME ON YOU!
Thank you for leaving my named bag.. hrrrmph.

I shouldnt have to lock my house on a shard such as WOD, but I guess I must.

Something like this has happened to me when i started playing here, on the previous shard "secured" container couldn't be opened by other so i sticked all the wool i collected to it, one day all the 1500-1700 wool were gone. It happens.

I thought secured was safe (like it had been on other shards) until I noticed several k of kindling missing.(not a big deal I know, but suprised me that someone on this shard would take anything)

I noticed earlier tonight someone sneaking around town hidden and stealthed, possibly the same person who keeps ripping the doors off their hinges. Anyways I dont know if this is related but the town crier said "guarding my backpack" right after I saw someone disappear from sight. I think someone is playing around with the theif-like skills to see what they can get away with! Possibly the same type of person who would be getting into others houses and taking stuff!

The advantage to a secured container is that if someone who is not friended to your house removes something from the chest, it is logged to a file so it can be tracked. Theft on the shard is illegal, and should be referred to the staff for a resolution. Sometimes it is someone not knowing any better, sometimes its an outright non-WoDlike act, so best to let the staff handle the situation. There are tools available to them to try and trace the problem.

my tank got a nice armor, but it has a sneaking spell on it, so if you put it on it hides you, i was at the bank messing around with it.

The guarding my backpack has nothing to do with it, it's just part of the NPCs script (along with saying stuff like hello).

Oh, and just because they have stealth and use it in town doesn't mean they're a thief :P
