I think the moral of the story is to not macro. It doesn't help raising skills in WoD (as far as I know), so I am of the opinion that justice was, if harshly, dealt.
As for the monsters "never spawning", I came across this idea. Now, I can't be certain if it's accurate, but it is an observation made out of experience, so I figured it was at least worth a shot:
The cances are the spawner possibly near your home has never been geared up so high. I've seen Ents wandering just outside of Britannia, because there were more players online than usual. Spawners aren't really predictable, and I am unsure to how long you have been playing, but it's quite likely they've never been so high. Out of interest, where exactly is your house?
As for deleting your character, I myself have been prone to acts of rashness while in the heat of the moment, and I can't say I don't regret a few of them. This includes deleting my character. But I can say they've all been learning experiences, a way to test my integrity, character, and overall love of the shard. I have to say I wouldn't be where I was without a little difficulty and setbacks - as I imagine anyone else whose established a foothold on this shard would say.
That said, I have little love for those who macro. The game was not intended to reward people who do so, as it can quickly ruin the player economy.
(look at scrolls: people order them in the tens of thousands)
In any case, I see this post as written by a player who wants to come back, but is upset. If that is the case, I hope your return to WoD is just as enjoyable as joining was. As frustrating as your situation is, if I was in your position I would count myself grateful for not being on OSI, where what happened to you would have happened in the first five minutes, and opportunities here are non-existent.
Proverb:
If you consider yourself hard done by, just remember some person is doing it worse on OSI, or a really lame player shard.
