old mac game

As this is a pc based game I'm not sure how many of you owned a mac; But I remember playing a game, set in space, where you started out with a shuttle craft and acted as a courier. Eventually you earned enough to outfit your shuttle with some pretty cool weapons (rapid-fire 3-shot-wide auto-tracking lazer!). You also got to capture other crafts I remember one being named a "kestrel" (sp?) If any one remembers this game PLEASE post! I wanna see if i could locate a copy in the HUGE space that is the 'net!

Found it! Escape Velocity.
AND THERE'S A WINDOWS PORT! so I don't have to try to find an old Mac! :D
the latest version is EV Nova
