I'd just like to announce a little contest for any artists we may have here on the shard: as most of you have probably noticed, I've added a number of paintings that can be double-clicked to be viewed in the last couple of versions of the WoD files. Since it seems to be a pretty popular feature, I'd like to add some more. It would be nice to have some original pictures, but unfortunately, I have very little art skill
So, I'm holding a contest to try to get some interesting and unique artwork: assuming that anyone actually enters (I'm a pessimist, I know
), I'll post any and all submissions here on the boards and allow everyone to vote on their favorite. The winner's picture will be added to the WoD files, and the player will be given a copy of their picture (as an in-game item) as the reward. In addition, a second copy will be placed in Britian Bank for everyone to enjoy.
Random boring details for people interested in entering
*Submit entries to me at
drocket@drocket.net. Entries should be in jpg format (or gif, or png, or some other common compressed format. No 5 megabyte bmps please) Please include your WoD accountname and the character name that you want me to post your entry under
*Entries should be submitted by February 29th
*The final picture in-game will probably be about 320x240 pixels (though oriented whatever direction you prefer.) I'd prefer that you submit a larger version of the picture, though (say, 640x480 or higher) so I can post it to the front page of the website. Also, I may need to make some minor tweaks to it (for color especially) because the UO picture format is rather picky and annoying to work with, and its just easier to do that with a larger picture that's later shrunk down.
*World of Dream administration reserves the right to reject application based on content (AKA: no naked people, please
)
Random legal junk
*Artwork submitted must be an original work of which the submitter is legal copywrite owner. Submission of a piece of artwork grants WoD the right to use that piece of artwork in-game and on the WoD website for non-commecial use , blah, blah, blah. To summ up, you can't steal someone else's artwork, and you can't sue us if you change your mind later
