*whacks himself with his quill repeatedly*
I have been sorely remiss in my reporting duties. Please forgive me!
The Dailgas have become more than a mere "nuisance." They have attacked regularly.
This evening, while doing maps with Malakim, Rime, Rocks Silivan and Willow Star ( ), we ran into a Dailga Messenger near Trinsic. He carried a note which said that the town invasions were going poorly and it was time to begin attacking our island cities.
We made our way back to Brit and gathered the troops (adding Augur Wildwood, Raybell, Ehran, Lyllwen Green and Trishara O'Daye ( ). While we discussed strategy, Augur gated to find the rogues. He reported back that they were in Jhelom, so we made our way there and found a small group of Dailgas.
We dispatched them and then headed to Serpent's Hold. The force in Serpent's Hold was considerably larger and they came by boat. That battle was quite a bit longer than the Jhelom skirmish but in the end, we prevailed.
We checked Cove before heading back to Brit. Augur and Ehran had already verified that our other island communities were safe for the moment.
Earlier in the week, a traveling healer named Lysander showed up while a group I was with was hunting Titans near Yew. He was a big help and later several of us saw him in Brit.
The King of the Dailgas, Zundra Khan, came to the Bank afterwards and asked about him. Apparently the Dailgas had set up "Road Taxation Crews" and they were about to "collect some tax" from a poor traveler when Lysander showed up and gated the lucky fellow to safety. This did not sit well with the Dailga leader and he again warned us to steer clear of his men.
We reminded him that only the Queen can levy a lawful road tax but he apparently wasn't listening. We did some checking and sure enough, these taxmen were out on some of the roads around Brit. They were also defeated.
Lastly, if you see a Wandering Healer, be careful. The Dailgas have hired these folks to do anything but heal. They are powerful mages. Mostly we have seen them in and near the Brigand Camps, which is also where we found most of the "Tax Crews."
