Prologue: I'm not sure how many of the Old Old Oldies even know this, but I'm very much a loner. Not all due to choice mind you. It is that I just don't like being in Britan, where most people are, because I never liked Britan. I hang out in Moonglow and love talking to people who come there. Not many do. When I started on this shard in Dec of '99, I once again started in Moonglow and lived there. The problems of Britan were far away. This meant I missed the Christmas party that year, I was actually bummed, but understood I was not where everyone else, so my loss ( nice runon sentence eh

The decision:
In any case, it was decided by the powers that be that Cove was not a good settling point for players, so Orc after Orc were pushed upon them until they relented and were forced to leave. Debate over where to go arose. When they decided to come to Moonglow, out of self preservation for some piece of what I loved about Moonglow I asked if I could be Mayor.
It Started:
So it started, we had weekly meetings and people would go on hunts afterwards. The meetings at first were more like a getting to know you deal. Then one day I step into the hedges teleporter to go to my home near the Lyceum. WTF! Im being assaulted by all sorts of Trolls. The defenders are rustled up and the intial invasion is beat back. Afterwards they divy up the treasure, and ask me if I want mine. My response was no, but if they wanted me to have it, put it in the city cofers. Soon the position of treasurer was born as the Trolls seemed to disklike our meeting ground, and grew jealous of the fact that we had been graced with a stone table and chair for our meeting hall.
The treasury grows:
The trolls continue to visit and the treasury gets bigger as everyone is now donating to the city cofers. We even venture out when the trolls fail to show up and collect taxes from other sources. Many voices were asking for this or that in Moonglow, so we called people together and spoke as one large voice. At one time there was a nice park next to the armoury at the south entrance to the gated area. It became an item issue and and was gone in a week

Regatta and the Mall:
The treasury was now very large. So a regatta was planned and executed by my placing vendors all over the map and telling the boaters where the first one was, and they got directions from the vendors along the way. The winner, sorry I don't remember who, was given 100K in gold. The Mall was created by us paying the GM's to make the houses available for players wanting to place vendors. I'm sadden by the fact this place has gone to such dissarry. Since I've been playing again I have yet to see more then one of those vendors with anything to sell or willing to buy anything. How long do those vendors last? They just seem like a waste of good space now.
The center didn't hold:
Well all good things must come to an end. Ackadia arose and jobbing was born. Many of the defenders got distracted with Ackadia. I personally could not deal with jobbing. So a new mayor and treasurer were elected ( since the treasurer was leaving to ). Sorry those names are lost to me, also. They were given the reigns of leadership and I didn't log back onto WoD for 3.5 years...
