I think we will decide that at the next meeting. There are several ideas on the table, some
will be open to all mages (new and old), others we have to discuss.
An essential part of the overall Fellowship of Mages is to help mentor less experienced mages -- take them on hunts, share strategies, help get them established, etc.
The idea of starting a new mage (for some of us by deleting an existing character) was one of the ideas proposed to generate interest for established "oldby" mages. We have to set down the rules for that and agree when to start. Some of the rules proposed were: Start in Moonglow and (at least at first) stay in Moonglow; No vendor or guard quests; No jobbing; Equipment from other characters on the same account will not be shared with this new character via the bank; The only equipment we use (including scrolls/spells) is what we find there and share with each other; Crafted items from within that group (including copies of scrolls) can be shared. Once we have agreed on the guidelines and a date to start, we will share that information.
The other main idea to generate "oldby" interest was to do a "naked" hunt -- which means we use our existing mages, strip off all magics (including jewelry and magic armor/weapons) and go raid the Brigands to get their armor
, then go on to take on Wind or some other dungeon. Obviously potions, bandages, spellbooks and regs would be allowed, but no scrolls. The idea is to fight with our wits and practice strategy. Not sure when this will happen. The end of the month was suggested but we probably need to have another meeting to solidify it.
In the meantime, until the next meeting, it would be a great help if people would try to think up interesting activities for old/new mage combinations and ideas to keep the "oldbies" interested too.
