whenever i pay a merchant to train me in something, it will bring up the gump as normal, with the correct projected skill gain, and it will show up that i am practicing a skill with the .prac command. i did add one skill, bowcraft, it shows up for training and has nothing wrong with it, it compiled successfully. does that have to do with this problem? the minutes only go down every 10 minutes or so, and the new skill never has the blue text show up that i gained skill in it.

I wouldn't trust the client messages - they're not very accurate. It would be much better you check the skillwindow and see if you're actually going up in skill or not.
