Group Endeavor

I know it is a normal thing for most inhabitants of this world to go out and hunt in groups but I've mainly hunted alone with just a couple of exceptions, with Nox Starfire once and the other day with the valiant Morigan.

Tonight, I was going to try another approach to Titan slaying and was almost all suited up when I received a magical msg from Edison. He asked if I wanted to join Michella and he in a hunt. They were roaming up around Wrong and thought I might enjoy it.

Well, I had just put a couple of pork chops in the oven here in the Yew house and I didn't want to forget about them but I figured I could go out and hunt for awhile. I am so glad I did!

Edison opened a portal for me at the bank and I joined the two. All around us were slain bodies of nasty creatures of all different types. Needless to say, I was quite impressed. We all greeted one another and started off. Immediately we ran into such jovial types as Titans and Ogre Lords along with their lesser friends, Ogres, Cyclops and just about anything else that could bite, gouge or smash.

Whew, we were very busy for awhile but I felt no fear of death. I knew there were others there to assist and if I did fall, resurrect me. Normally, I am on my own and dying alone is a truly lonely thing. This was different.

Shortly, Ehran joined us and the four of us cheefully slaughtered and plundered at will throughout the northern wilderness. I had been up there before but never really explored it in detail since I couldn't manage all the wildlife by myself.

It was a mad and thoroughly enjoyable experience and they even took me to the Shabooli village where I had my first experience with those sneaky folks. I wish Wyspr had been along, he would have loved to tame some of those warhorses! Ah well, he can visit that area himself sometime! For us, it was total abandonment to "anything goes".

When we all tired, we traveled through a portal to the Britain bank and I was selected to make the split. We all did well financially and ended up with a lot of "junk" as well. I have a feeling any "Young" inhabitants are going to do rather well if I see them.

As we chatted at the bank, Ciara and Sondra joined us. Ciara was pale from her recent ordeal with the necromantic shamans of the hospital lands but in good spirits nonetheless. I learned many valuable pointers concerning tactics and necessary skills. I also learned I could replace the hair I had lost due to a nasty sort of tonic I had swallowed the other day. That was a relief. I knew there was a cure but I hadn't bothered to look for it yet.

I felt...oh, I am not sure how to describe it. I felt so good to be included with a group and all were so generous with gifts and knowledge. An extraordinary group of people indeed. I had lived alone for so many years, and hunted alone as well, that I felt overwhelmed with emotion at times at the camaraderie. Overwhelmed in a good way, of course.

Near the end, Ciara invited me to her home in Nujel'm along with Sondra. Now we're talking! Me and two lovely women. Now, now, don't get any wrong ideas. Not only am I a total gentleman but either one of those beauteous ones could have kicked my butt without losing a hairpin. :)

We talked at length and Ciara very generously upgraded my armor, turned my bulky plate helmet into a fine, stylish bandana and showed me the treasures of her home. Sondra played melodious tunes on the piano and wiggled her toes in the lush bearskin rug on the floor. I was quite impressed and generally overcome, once again, by the sheer niceness and generosity of everyone. Sondra and I kept a close eye on Ciara to make sure she didn't overdo herself, of course.

I finally remembered the pork chops in the oven in the house at Yew. Hmm, it had been about three hours ago! Oh my...I reluctantly took leave of the gracious ladies and traveled forthwith to arrive with smoke billowing out the windows of the cabin and chickens squawking in sheer terror inside. I am afraid the pork chops were rather over done, to say the least, but I did gnaw on one half heartedly, my mind still replaying the scenes of the evenings and looking forward to other times...

There's nothing worse than dried out pork chops. But at least it sounds like it was worth it. ;)
