Sort Search

Postby Aislin on Mon Aug 09, 2004 5:46 pm

Due to my recent mad search for my lost Magery buff, i have a suggestion for a possible addition to .sort.

Im not sure how hard it would be to implement but wouldnt it be nice if you had a sort search on the .sort gump.

Like the option on the auction to type in what your looking for. Many times i have pages and pages to look thru on .sort...and it would be nice to at least narrow that down.

To be able to just type in what your looking for and it appear in your top pack would save on a lot of time.

This sounds like a great Idea if it's able to be done.
I would make it a bit easier to find things in your bags.

Another addition I think would come in handy is the ability to choose more than one item to sort. Having to do it a buch of times kinda becomes a pain.

well lots of times if you pick up someone else's stuff you have to stand there and do .sort in a dangerous location. It would be quicker to be able to find what your looking for in a snap. Of course if all your stuff is marked it shouldnt be a problem. But that isnt always the case. Lots of people forget to .own reg bags and scroll bags and such.

This really shouldn't be a huge problem, assuming people .own all thier equipped gear and have thier supplies nested in a .owned bag should it get looted it should all go to the top level of your main pack.

best policy is just not to loot at all and let the dead player sort his own junk out from the mobs.

I agree. But sometimes it cant be helped.

This was just a suggestion. I dont like doing .sort. Its hard to read, and usually what your looking for is on the very last available page. It seems outdated.

Personally, Aislin Dear, I love the idea.

For my own purposes, I never use .sort to find an owned item, or just as a tool to "see what I have". Usually I am looking for something specific. Having a .sort search would alleviate the need to scroll through several pages of "stuff" you may have on you. Especially if you are on a hunt and have a full loot bag. It can be a pain.

Oh, and by the way,

And a very, very late reply from Drocket. :P Sorry, I've been having some internet problems the past week. Turned out that I had a bad wire and been virtually unable to connect. Things should be fixed now, except that for the time being, I have to choose between being connected to the net and watching TV. :(

Anyway, ".sort search" has been added. The gump for .search has also been rewritten and should be a lot more use-friendly. Let me know how you like it (I need some good news :P )
