While doing a map east of Cove I encountered yet another band of outlaws....mages...archers....warriors.On one of them I found....

'Outlaw Manifesto'

We will not return to the towns.We will live off the land.We will not tolerate incursions into our holdings.We will wipe hands clean of all duties to the Queen and the land of Brittania.We are our own masters!

As well as the Manifesto I found a nest of eggs,not sure if it has any signifigance.

That sounds fun! I want to be an outlaw. Their little camps are so cute.

I too found an "Outlaw Manifest" figting outside of Trinsic earlier, I also found a Serpent's Crest. It is quite the interesting deco.

So then the towns are now safe, but the areas between the towns just got worse?

I think it's high time that these "Outlaws" express their demands so that they can be dealt with. I vote for public hangings. Anybody else?

Public hangings are gross! Let's just chop 'em up into tiny bits with our sharp pointy things. Or mash them into pulpy bits of mangled flesh with our blunt things. Or let our dragons use their bones for toothpicks.....or...well, you get the idea.

Now, call me old fashioned if you like, but theres nothing quite like a good drawing and quartering.

I won't seek them out necessarily but if they get in my way, they're fertilizer.

A Serpents' Crest and Eggs? Sounds like they might be allied to, of have allegiance to, the Ophidians

They have renounced the Queen without leaving her lands. this is an act of treason.

They have announced "they will tolerate no intrusions" which constitutes at the very least brigandage and more likely armed rebellion.

They have allied themselves with the Dark Forces in open battle against the Queen's Men (and Women).

Each and every one of these offenses is a Capital Crime subject to summary judgement by any lawful citizen of the realm.

If things in the realm were so bad all they needed to do was set sail for greener shores. Instead they chose to haunt the back country and threaten the lives of passersby. Inevitably some foe of the Queen will lead these poor fools to their doom.

I believe the Serpent's Crest is actually our Queen's symbol. You can find it in the throne room and on every Order guard's shield.

Yes, the crest looks just the red and silver crest in the queen's throne room.

I ask, why are outlaws red or "evil?" Let's consider what makes an outlaw what they are, the points outlined in the manifesto.

Sounds like honest living to me.

Is it not the nature of Every Living Creature to protect its own life? One cannot deny natural rights to one group or another fairly. No evil here.

These claims of brigandage and armed rebellion are baseless. Simply propaganda from Lissar's thugs. These outlaws abandonded armed rebellion when they left the towns. The Outlaw Manifesto is antithetical to brigandism, outlaws merely provide for and protect themselves.

Ah here we find the problem. The outlaws aren't actually evil but Queen Lissar has declared them to be so in indignation and fear. Do the birds or the llamas of the valley worry about subservience to the Queen? Why must all men?

Even if simple woodsmen were capable of mastering ship building, when you sail east from Britain you end up in Skara Brae. And who is to say these lands are Queen Lissar's? Why should this land be her birthright alone and not that of all born here. I have seen no basis for sovereignty, and you can hardly call Lissar a representative.

There is no mention of either alliances or desire to battle in the manifesto. It seems you are as paranoid as Lissar Ehran, where are you coming up with this?

This whole notion of Dark Forces is ridiculous as well. You see the whole world as those who worship Lissar and those who are Dark or evil? It is this very limiting perception that causes war and suffering and thus those who believe it are the actual source of evil in our lands.

As a side note: Do you know what happens when there are no Lissarians (players) in the land of WoD? Complete and utter peace and harmony. There is no society that wages war on another society in our land except the Lissarians. Ophidians never fight amongst themselves unless by some bard's "dark" powers. However a certain subsection of humans (players) constantly slaughter the species and societies for pleasure and greed. That is why the entire monster world seeks to stop one people alone. When a creature is marked red or "evil" that is only the opinion of Queen Lissar and not an actual representation of virtuousity.

There is only one "offence" here that you haven't completely fabricated: that the outlaws have abandonded duties set by Queen Lissar.
Considering that these duties include murdering all people who don't worship her I think we would all be well to wash our hands of them as well.

How can you not deplore a Queen with such draconian and totalitarian policy. Such behavior is reminicent of Stalin or Hussien, not an enlightened leader.

How about we make a truce with them instead? If the Queen can get over her ego and make these outlaws blue or grey then these outlaws wont have to protect themselves and we can be at peace with them. Maybe they could provide our poor crafters with some trade.


Oh but the Queen is a neoconservative bi$%^ isn't she? She doesn't believe in peace and wages constant bloodshed agains't the world in the name of her unfalterable, god given justice. To protect against the second haulocaust she becomes Hitler.

How could i have ever been so mistaken about my views on WoD. the very next time i ride past one of their camps and they rush out to "greet" me i will be sure to turn the other cheek a whole lot of times until those incompetent bumpkins manage to bash me into the ground in the name of sweet reason.

when you go anywhere near them they swarm upon you like ants on a picnic spread. they attack us not the other way around.

as for leaving the realm there are ships to Amn regularly with space going to waste. and its certainly possible for them to build their own ships as surely they must have the odd shipwright in their midst.

they have i believe been associated with pirates and brigands in the recent past and frankly their choice of names "outlaws" doesn't exactly suggest pastoral knitting circles to me.

as for our most gracious Queen well you have the horrible misfortune to live in a monarchy. if this is so terribly offensive to you there really are only two options. leave or overthrow the government and take your chances on what happens after.

your choice of phrasing was gratuitously insulting to many of us here. i am entirely sure that being called one of Lissar's thugs irks people. personally i would consider it not a small badge of honour to be one of the Queen's "thugs".
