I tell you what. I've worked with computers just about every day since I was about 10 (of course, back then they were made of stone instead of silicon, but I digress), and just about every day they've managed to do something completely unexpected. Somehow, the more complicated a machine is, the more likely it is to develop the weird power to amaze and suprise its creators.
Just ask the folks at the JPL who managed to land 2 robots millions of miles from earth and then proceded to frag one of them completely just by asking it to remember one too many instructions at once. But hey, if we're ever going to get to the point where we are completely enslaved to our robot overlords, we have to start somewhere, right?
What's that, Master? Yes....I go now to play game....I must now amuse my laptop-shaped overseer. We have been assimilated.
