Many thanks to "The Rescuers!"

Ehade Silivan died in Wind last evening and he asked me if I would come and help him out. I buffed and headed out.

I should've known it was going to be "one of those nights" when I stepped into Wind and was immediately confronted by not one but two blood liches plus a flaming skeleton. I rode past them, past the first "entrance," along the "back way" as Ehade had suggested. At the second "entrance" there is a particularly nasty little curve that you have to negotiate to continue.

Awaiting me was not only an Ancient Dragon but his younger brother the Royal, another bloody Blood Lich and a spectre. I jumped back and hid (thank the Goddess for invis scrolls) and messaged Ehade.

He was of course past this point. I made the seriously stupid decision to attempt to ride past the brothers Wyrm and not surprisingly, my puny existence was snuffed out in the blink of an eye on that bad curve. (dang, Ancients hit hard!)

I was messaged almost immediately by Ehran. He asked if I needed help and I said that both Ehade and I were in a bad way. When I told Ehran what was awaiting him, he didn't even hesitate. He and "The Rescuers" arrived shortly thereafter: Ehran, Rocks Silivan (Ehade's bigger and much wiser brother), Willow Star and a couple of others. (Remember folks, I was dead. The rest of the names are a bit fuzzy).

In short order the Royal was dead, the blood liches were piles of goo and the Ancient was being beat on. In those narrow tunnels, line of sight is lost very easily (as most anyone who has ever gone to Wind will attest) and that dang slippery Wyrm was putting up a serious fight.

Rocks rezzed me and I gathered my belongings. I was mad as a wet hen at being so unceremoniously dumped by this overgrown lizard and I wanted a piece of him as payback, but I kept losing line of sight. Ehran did not. With his trusty bow, with Willow Star and her dragon, Rocks and his dragon and my meager attacks, the Ancient finally fell. After looting him and retrieving the last of my belongings (dang thing was a thief too!), I decided the best way he could repay his attack on me was to become my servant, and this he did (I AM part necro, after all. )

After getting reset and with the big fella watching my back, I went after Ehade's killers. Ehran had lost track of Rocks and Willow but he and I found each other and set off to assist. Rocks messaged me where he was (approximately) and so Ehran and I headed that way. We came around a building and found two Shadow Mages. Ehran warned me that there was also a Black Wisp ahead but I must've still been groggy from being recently dead.

Yeah, that's it. Couldn't have been just another attack of "the stupids," right? :?

I attacked the Mages using field scrolls (energy, fire and poison) and didn't even notice the Black Wisp knock down my reflect and kill me until the whole world was gray again. It happened that fast. The worst part was, this left Ehran to deal with two VERY angry Shadow Mages AND a Black Wisp. He did quite well too, and then Rocks came riding back. Together they killed the Mages, eradicated the Wisp and I was once again returned to the land of the living.

At that point I was ready to recall. I mean, two deaths inside of about 15 minutes? Clearly I was not on my game last night. Ehran left and Rocks gave me a bag of gear to hold for Ehade. Ehade showed up a short time later. I rezzed him (felt good to be doing the rezzing for once) and then I left, grateful to be out of there and back home in Vesper.

Many, many thanks to the brave souls who helped last night. Now, if I can just find my "smart" scrolls...

No shame in getting whacked by an ancient and a royal in close quarters. and by "handled them well" atei actually means "ran off screaming like a little girl".
