You should be able to open it with Alt+R

I have the same issue, none of the alt commands for me work. Ie alt O is paperdoll.

you need to set everything back up as hot keys on all your characters. even the default ones. at least i did.

Yeah, so far I've only met one person who didn't, and they had UO still from another shard or somesuch.

The problem has to do with the permissions in the Desktop subfolder inside of the UO folder, from what I have read.

From what I can see, the problem with the macros file is that the 4.x.x client that installs with UO gold, stores the information in a slightly different format than the 2.0.0 client that we use.

the 2.x client will have macros that look like this:

P 0 1 0
Open Paperdoll
########

It seems i didnt keep a copy of the other macro file but with a 4.x.x client the same macro would look something like this

P 0 1 0
O p e n P a p e r d o l l
########

When the 2.x client sees the information in the "wrong" format, it freaks out and erases everything it doesn't understand, or that's what it looks like anyway.

Ok, so I tried ALT+R and it did not work for me either.

I've updated the "File" page to include a default 2.x client macros.txt file. Skeeter, try to follow the instructions provided on this page for where to put the macros.txt file:
