Playing on a Mac

I have a friend who used to play ages ago and is hoping to again.
He only has a Mac though, He said he couldn't get it to work when he tried today, and that he even used a program for Mac that lets you use windows programs and couldn't get it working.

Is it possible to play on a Mac? if so any general advice how to set it up I can pass on to him?

If you need more information about what his issues were and what he tried let me know and ill get him to make a forum account.

I personally use the virtualization method for playing on a Mac (VirtualBox + XP), but I recently found this and intend to give it a shot:

It's a pre-packaged version using Wine. It's going to require customizing the client for WoD, but that's to be expected. Would be nice to not have to deal with a VM just to play UO, though.
