Help Please

I have tried multiple times to log onto WoD's, I finally had my son to try, figured I was doing something wrong, but it crashed on him as well. The message we are getting says that the ***client.exe has to close, any ideas on how we can fix this?
The client has been directly installed in the UO install folder.

Lets see... what version of the client did you install? What OS are you running it from?

I am using Windows XP and I installed the UO Gold from the forums, I am also patched all the way.

You may want to try reinstall Without the patching.

Yeah, I think I may have to remove the patching instructions from the Getting Started Guide, it seems a number of people have been having problems with that.
Skeeter, let us know if a reinstall (with no patching) fixes it.

A reinstall WILL fix it. I was playing on a shard where they used the latest client, patched all the way, and they were always trying to keep up with OSI. It wouldn't work with WoD, always crashed, but then I installed AoS 2D from the CD without patching it, and that's how I play in WoD.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am uninstalling now and them reinstalling UOGold, I hope this works

I'll be running WoD's on a laptop instead of my desktop.

I'd like to thank everyone for their help, it worked, no patching that is. It's good to be back home again!!
