My thought was based on a necro-knight warrior. liche gives a higher longer polymorph. Is damage just based purely on weapon damage and tactics? I was testing buffed vs unbuffed this morning and didn't really see a difference

Yes, strength increases damage. It´s hard to see the difference because of the randomness in weapon damage, but strength is applied as a multiplying factor afterwards.
