WoD Development priorities

Hello

Now that I got things mostly working and the custom artwork nailed down, I need to set some priorities on what to do next. I have started several things already, and they need some work before they are finished:
  • Already started
  • Galleons (new ships)
  • Gargoyle Race and equipment
  • Elven Race and equipment
  • Buff/debuff indicators
  • Samurai Empire equipment
  • Age of Shadows equipment
  • Bard Masteries, Mysticism, Ninjitsu, Bushido and Paladin spellbooks
  • Public Moongate destination menus
  • Not started yet
  • Bushido and Ninjitsu special abilities (not the spells)
  • Weapon abilities
  • Custom houses
  • Age of Shadows Necromancy spells
  • Spellweaving
  • Imbuing skill
  • Focus skill
  • Discordance skill
  • Revamp of bard skills
  • New craftables and decorations
  • New monsters
  • New realms
  • Lots of new items
  • More stuff I forgot to mention...
So, this post is to get feedback from the players on what should be my priorities. Personally I think getting the gargoyle equipment and its crafting done would be necessary since they will be available as a playable race after the upgrade, and they are too large to wear any human equipment except robes. The gargoyle armor can be made of cloth, leather, metal or stone (GM carpentry for working with stone), while the weapons can be made of glass (tinkering), metal or stone. Elves can wear any human equipment.

So, besides that, what else should I focus on? In other words, what should be released a month or two after the server upgrade?

I think your definitely right on track Agata, and your thoughts towards prioritizing seem like they know what they are doing!

We all have those days Azzo, no hard feelings im sure.

I'd say the next thing should be the custom houses and the galleons. Who is with me?

I;d say new realms ,that would keep us content while agata finished up elsewhere
Custom houses would be nice, would certainly be a money pit

New realms wouldn't bee too hard, it would require the creation of new npcdesc entries, and some entries for spawning those realms. The only real coding would be for putting together their AI.

The galleons are almost done. For custom houses, I haven't even looked what needs to be done yet, but I will shortly.

I'd like new mobs and weapon "special moves" :)

I personally would love to see a crapload of new items and equipment, especially those geared towards warrior types. As it stands, I feel the amount of stuff (items) we have to play with in game are geared a lot more towards mage classes and while that in itself is fantastic, it leaves the melee classes kind of hanging. As well, new players are going to find the mage classes have a little higher learning curve and may turn them away.

Though there are some HUGE changes that are coming, the little things are what keep me personally interested. Simply having more items, weapons and other shiny things to interact with will keep people interested and coming back. *points at giant paladin sword of brutal toenail clipping*

I haven't been on as much lately as I would have liked (dang real life anyway) but I hope that changes soon. Having said that, the new realms definitely catch my interest. Would that include new mobs?
