For some reason I'm unable to chat in game. I can use .dot commands and they work just fine, however I can't say anything. I've also tried giving pet commands like all follow me or all kill and the pets do not respond. I can see other people talking just fine. Any ideas?

What client version are you using?
I'm familiar with the acacia. I know how immortality is achieved.

That happened to me too. I just deleted Ultima Online and reinstalled the game (DO NOT Patch) install the files and good to go. First time it happened I think I had some custom files. Second time I patched to 2.00 everything worked but could not talk. So cleared everything and did again and did not patch and worked fine. Using Second Ed worked fine.

I tried that and it was the same. I did resolve it though by downloading mondains legacy instead of second age and installing that.
