Thanks for the insight, Mr. Crowley. I went into Minoc tonight to see for myself how the trolls are preparing for peace. I found them looting the town and killing innocent civilians. I decided to conduct a poll to determine the troll's commitment to peace. I went North of Minoc to conduct my poll, but not so far as the mountains. In other words, I did lot leave the territory settled by the Queen's loyal subjects. Hopefully, we all agree that the North Mines valley is not the troll "Homeland". Each troll that I met I questioned as to their interest in peace. Of the 102 trolls questioned, 102 were against peace, at least with me. However, by the time we completed our exchange of ideas, all 102 trolls accepted the "peace" I offered (let's see, 816 hides divided by 8- yes 102).
I remember the old days when the troll "homeland" was the valley East of the North Mine Valley. They stayed there only because we of Britain kept their numbers under control. I well remember my Troll Peace Marathon, in which I reported my visits. My objective was to see for how many consecutive days I could slay over 100 trolls. I don't remember the final record. It might have been 11 days or it might have been 14. Whichever, it went a long ways toward maintaining the peace.
I'm a loyal subject of the Queen and if she makes peace I will keep it for as long as it lasts. But mark my words. It will not work. And I will be buying no ore or shovels to fund their trechery. I did my mining with a steel shovel at the Fellowship Mines long before the trolls learned to enchant shovels and I will do it again, rather than pay a single gold peace to those (mostly) grey savages.

I was running around the dungeon today with Bojangles when Gramps messaged me saying he wanted to go see what the fuss was in Minoc with the trolls. He wanted to take some bottles of hooch out there and "broker a peace treaty" of his own so to speak. I sent Bojangles to get him and make sure he stayed out of trouble. Now mind you this is just what he related to me and we all know how he gets... According to him while he was looking for a troll of import to discuss things with he came upon two individuals standing at the statues chattin.. One was a Dark Messenger and the other looked to him to be a common warrior, he did mention she was quite fetching. Though I am not sure what if anything that tidbit had to do with anything important... ::sighs:: What he mentioned next was a bit disturbing though. According to him they were wanting to have a private conversation about something and it din't smell none to good to him as he put it. He went on to relate something about poison and having called Keelarr to come help with the trolls as none of them were being very peaceful. Keelarr and Bojangles did head upto the valley and found not a single peaceful troll save the ones that were peacefully dead...by their hands of course ::chuckles:: Keelarr found a bottle labled as something made by Gramps, but it was a shoddy attempt at a forgery. I am sure Gramps will be livid at the thought of someone forging his hooch... He is after all "The Brewmaster" as he likes to reference, appointed by the Queen herself he was!... The old man was pretty ummm well he was Gramps...so I intend to find Bojangles and get the real story from him. Keep an eye opened for treachery, with dark messengers around nothing good will come mark my words!

After leaving the statues and heading north , I reached into my bag and found the bottle of brew Gramps gave me took a good swallow of it and spat at the rancid taste. I threw the bottle along the trail heading into troll slay grounds. After killing several dozen trolls taking a few heads, I created quite an appetite , scrounging through my back pack I ate what I had brought and could not find enough to eat. Dont tell Gramps but someone needs to go in and check his recipes or his eyes. After several hours we went back to divy up our take ,still hungry I bought more food and drink , ate my fill , drank till my thirst was gone, and laid down to call it a day. Not long after I was heaving my meal out the window of the inn....not sure whats going on , but i;m hungry again and not wanting to eat ....

From the queen: Citizens... no treaty has yet been signed, so you can scarcely expect hostilities to stop just because we're having talks. But the time has been set for ((8:00pm EST)) on this Friday. We are assured by Victoria Tel'Imoen, our most trusted emissary, that talks have gone smoothly and a formal treaty will be ready for review at that time. The troll emissary will be present, so while we encourage the citizenry to be present to look over this groundbreaking document before it is signed, we expect them to be on their best behaviour.

My brother Atlas tells me that he had the good fortune of sharing a bottle of wine with Victoria and she passed on some more information about the peace treaty including the treatise itself — transcribed quickly below. She advised that arms are best left at home or sheathed. There is no need to fear; the Queen will not be present and there will be armed guards.
Being an agreeable arrangement settle upon by the honourable representatives of the nations of the trolls (heretofore parties of the first part) and that nation under the rule of Her Majesty Queen Lissar (heretofore parties of the second part) It is decreed that terms of peace shall be set forth as follows:
i.) The party of the first shall be granted all rights exclusively to the lands of North of Minoc and all riches contained therein, with the area define beginning at a line beginning at a border defined by a line starting from standard sextant coordinates [the area north of minor starting above the stables] Continuos North by any direction to the first water accessible by land. Areas inaccessible without specialised tools shall be considered borders and neutral territory.
ii.) The Parties of the second part will not trespass upon the lands of the parties of the first part as defined in article i, nor the parties of the first part upon the lands declared theirs by the parties of the second part.
iii.) The parties of the first part will be allowed free access to the lands as Minoc as long as they abide by all laws set forth by the parties of the second part.
iv.) The parties of the second part shall pass no laws hindering the trade and free economy of the parties of the first part, assuming no items for trade are considered contraband by the laws of the parties of the second part.
v.) The parties of the first part shall yearly pay a tithe agreed upon no less than sixth months prior to the end of that year to the parties of the second part which shall be spent upon bettering services available to the citizenry of the parties of the second.
vi.) Trespassing shall not include extrication of criminals who flee to the territories opposite parties, but it shall be understood that any hostilities met by citizenry in pursuit of said criminals will be forgiven, as will any self defence enacted by those chasing a fugitive including, but not limited to, killing, maiming, injuring, blinding, or otherwise harming through any means the lawful citizens of that place.
vii.) Any breakages of the treaty as aforementioned shall be dealt with by the party who has been wronged and that party shall have sole right to edit this treaty as they see fit, assuming that said breakage of the treaty is:
a.) authorised by the leading government of the offending party
b.) includes sufficient number of the offending party’s population that it could reasonably be considered a serious threat to the wellbeing of the wrong party, or citizenry or governing body thereof.

Being duly appointed and authorised agents of the parties aforementioned, I agree that my government and the population thereof shall heretofore abide by the terms set forth herein:

Signed:
X:________
Urgrok
(of the party of the first part)
X________
Victoria Tel’Imoen
(of the party of the second part)

This treaty is wrong. I shall obey the Queen, but she has ill used her people. Folks live in the North Mines. The North Mines have always been coveted by the Trolls, but they have no native right to them. What does Brittania gain in return? Nothing. We can keep already keep the trolls under control once they cross into Minoc- the only problem is keeping the North Mines clear for our access- and now the Queen is just handing that land over so that we are worse off than before. I am terribly disappointed in our leadership.

I smell Eepees, Trolls and treachery. The Fusiliers have been decimated in recent days. They have been picked off a few at a time while standing guard. They were hit at the Teleporter, the Fellowship Hall walkway and the entire garrison on the roof of Fellowship Hall was wiped out. They were stationed in the same spots for many weeks with never more than minor incidents. Now, on the eve of this stinky "treaty" thing, the last line of defense against the Empire of the East Pole has come under terrorist assault.
The East Pole has often used troll mercenaries in their conquests. I sense their clever hands behind this latter move. Something BAAD is about to happen. I will be in the Hall of Virtue with the remnants of the Fusiliers tonight, ready to respond to any threat. A few old friends will be there with me and some new ones: the Sister of the East End have volunteered, as well. If trouble comes, as I feel it must, know there is a haven and support at the Hall of Virtue. Keep your blade sharp and your weather eye Eastward and Trollward.

So does this treaty, if signed, mean that we can no longer forcibly control the Troll population in Minoc without also controlling the guard population as well? In other words, will we have to fight our own guards to keep the Trolls under control? Unless something has seriously changed with the Trolls THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED. Men much wiser than I (Kale Greeneye, Homer and Azzo, to name a few) have given clear testimony to this fact. Are we to ignore the words of these heroes?

My Queen: we are your citizens and we will of course follow your directives. However, we implore you to hear the words of Homer, Kale, Azzo and others before signing this treaty.

Perhaps you would be willing to hold an audience with your heroes to further discuss this treaty?

Why is it that NOBODY has posted the fact that Victoria Tel'Imoen, in charge of the negotiation of the treaty with the trolls, was murdered on friday? There was a trial and all, and the suspect, a troll, was found NOT guilty.
