So there I was, sailing the high seas on The Margaritaville (she's a party ship she is) when I found a message in a bottle in a net. Never averse to treasure (and who is, really?), I went to the exact coordinates (exact confirmed both by my compass and UOAM) and cast my net. Seeing that my fishing skill is over 90 without buffs (and over 100 with buffs), I had the MIB in my main pack and I was casting a net I figured, no problem. After several encounters with wave elementals and tentacle beasts, no treasure chest.

So that got me to wondering, seeing that I am old and sometimes forgetful: have the rules changed for MIBs? How do you fish one up? Do they ever expire, like if this particular MIB had been in my bank for 7 years would it no longer work?

Any help will be appreciated!

You fish with a fishing pole to pull up the actual MIB.

Thanks Edison, just figured that out.

For some reason I find that I fish up the chest more quickly if I cast my line whilst standing about 5 tiles away from the chest co-ordinates (according to UOAM). So give that a go if it's taking you an age to fish it up even when when using the correct equipment!
