So there I was, my first chance to actually CLEAR a dungeon. As a member of the Upstarts, I had never accomplished this feat (members of the Atei clan have, of course. But since I am NOT an Atei...)
Back to the beginning of this tale of woe: I started out by looking for a llama or ostard to kill and zombify. That doesn’t take long in Moonglow and once done, I headed over to my usual spot, Moonglow Graveyard, astride my trusty zombie Ostard, Ozzie. The ghosts, skeletons and decaying zombies were aplenty, but they just couldn't seem to quit beating on each other (I'm a bard-mage.
) As I was looting the corpses of the undead, a spectre popped out of hiding. Having nothing to provoke onto it, I instead cast a poison field on its black form, and kept my reflect up while it attacked (and it didn't move from the field spell. Pretty stupid, eh?). Even at 100 magery I still fail at casting mana vampire (I don't use scrolls), so I tend to not use that particular spell very often. Finally drained, the spectre attacked me bodily. I cast a necro spell, Frost Field, on it as it got up close and personal, and peppered it with lightning and fireball shots. In short order, it was dead. While looting I lit a fire and meditated, and decided I needed a tougher challenge. In sorting through my runes, I happened upon the one I had marked for Snow Orc Fort. Orcs, thought I? An evil grin 
spread across my countenance and I opened the gate.
Stepping out near the fort (against the mountain to the south), I immediately spotted the inhabitants of Snow Orc Fort: many various Orcs, just waiting to be provoked. And provoke them I did. I collected my just rewards (loot!) and headed through the portal to the "interior" fort.
My plan was to use one of the tricks I had learned regarding this place: the chain lightning/earthquake combo. First, I ran around the exterior and killed anything that is outside, either through magery or provocation (or both). When that was done, and I had the interior inhabitants’ “attention,â€
