Kilt Warriors

So there we were standing in the forest, in our kilts and precious little else...
no wait that isn't right this story starts long before that ...

*crumples up paper and starts over*

Archus, Cloudchaser and I met up in Nujel'm bank trying to decided what to do while the gods looked at the current status of the world. Decided we didn't feel like sitting there, so we buffed up and headed off to wind to see what mischief we could get into there, Shadowstone and Malakim joined the party and before too long we ran out of stuff to kill so we headed off to Britain bank to sell off and split, around this time Ciara joined the troupe.

We sat around and chatted a bit when Arcus proclaimed "Gonna go see benson, I have a pile to drop off.", nobody seemed to have any better ideas what to do, so we all gated over to the house of the ever cheerful Benson.

While Archus dropped off his surplus magic we noticed a harpy and Ettin outside, no need to buff for this. In short order they had been dispatched as was the reaper we found a short ways off.

Once again we find ourselves standing in a circle chatting, when an Ettin wanders by. Malakim decides this is a good time to try something resembling the "naked hunting" concept tosses his armour and attacks wearing only his clothing buffs and his bardiche. He seemed to have a good time at it and eventually we all joined in.

We spent the next hour or so traipsing through East Yew forest slaying everything in our path and becoming a bit less well equipped with each passing moment. Roderick joined the happy group took one look at the scene and joined in.

So there we were standing in the forest, in our kilts and precious little else, the scene looked like this.

At this point we decided to head off to the brigand camp and try out newly reduced equipment out.

The less restrained among us ran screaming savage battle cries into the camp, startling poor Gandar, he seemed froze solid so we finished clearing the camp and let him loot. I did try to explain that no we weren't completely insane, from his relative silence I don't think he bought it...

At which point some of us decided to call it an evening and head off. I have been given to understand those left headed out again for more fun and adventure, hopefully someone can recount that.

Ah, memories of the woad-stained raiders of my homeland. I only wish I was there to join you.

Kilt Warriors part 2

Postby Cloudchaser on Fri Jun 20, 2003 5:13 pm

After Edison, Malakim and Shadowstone left, Ciara, Roderick, Archus and I got really brave. We decided we were ready to try Dragons. We deposited all our magic armor and weapons in the bank. Archus figured that we might all want to wear shoes this time (due to dragon deposits). He distributed shoes and sandals to those of us who didn't have any.

We were just about to gate to despise when Grampa Ranar strolled up and gave us all a bottle of courage (or foolishness). After a little toast, we gated to Despise. Grampa followed and said he thought Azzo really wanted to come with us. We waited for Azzo then, full of courage (and Grampa's hooch) we entered the caverns of Despise. We made our way through legions of orcs feeling more and more confident as each Orc Dragon Defender hit the ground.

We stopped to refresh our mana just before we reached the first Dragon Lair. Leia Ranar caught up to us here. When Azzo announced proudly that we were "skinny crawlin" (like skinny dippin only underground), Leia kinda shook her head and backed up a few steps, then wished us luck and headed back out the way she came. Oddly she didnt' look the least bit surprised, but I think thats because she spent some quality time with us in Wind just the other night.

Finally...the Dragons Lair...

Our first encounter with the winged ones was a drake....piece of cake. Assorted wyrms and elementals..and then...a Great Dragon..and after that...a Royal Dragon!It took some time, but in the end we were victorious.

Meanwhile, we had been seeing death cry after death cry and decided to see if we could be of assistance. Azzo got word that help was indeed needed in Famine, so we headed there to do what we could to help.

By the time we got to the bottom of Famine, I think everyone had been res'd and there was little for us to do but stand by in case of respawn.

Kilt warriors? Hmm.

I applaud the originality - it looks like you had a good time. Though, I can't imagine what your warcries were;

"Down with dragons, and chilly updrafts!" ?

or maybe;

"Fear my tartan fury!" ?

I'm sure there were some great ones. Perhaps organising big kilted battles against the orcs, like at cove. That'd be interesting. Nice work. :)

Actually, the war cries are more along the lines of, "no fair, if we can't wear shirts, either can the girls!" :P

Friday evening, Edison, Cloudchaser, Archus and I decided to head to Covetous and visit the lizards and the magic fountain. After a false start due to my discovery that I'd left my awesome rapier of nonethingness in my other kilt, we ventured inside. A few minutes into the hunt, we were joined by my husband Roderick, and the 5 of us swept through the first level in no time. We hadn't gone very far into the second level, when much to our dismay, Edison informed us that he could no longer continue on our journey. After bidding farewell to him, we hastened our pace, and soon found ourselves at the stairs leading to the lowest part of Covetous, also known as "the lake room". The room was as nasty as I've ever seen it. It took some creative tactics, teamwork and excellent healing from our mages to pull it off, but we achieved our final destination without a single casualty.

D'oh!

Guess its time to buy a new one.

That should help my credibility some.

Holy! No armour and you still had 140 hit points and 196 mana and 25 AR. :shock: I doubt those poor monsters would put up much of a fight with you 7 green varmits lol.

I think I'm done with my tank for a bit and I'm making a mage. With those spells who needs armour.

Mages do easily double the damage a tank does, there more versatile.If you play them slowly and without rushing ahead youl close to never die.Also mages have more HP more AR then a tank.If you want i can go further in depth.
