Upstart Mage Council Voting

At this evening's Upstart meeting, it was suggested that it was time to introduce some "structure" into the group by electing a "Council of 3," and the group agreed.

It was decided that the three members of this Council will represent the three main branches of Magic: Druidism, Necromancy and Wizardry. This Council will make and review policies concerning the Upstarts (more duties will surely follow), and the "Chosen One" of each branch will speak for their particular sect. Council members will serve 3-month terms and may continue to be re-elected if they wish to run again.

In order to be the Council member of a particular sect, you must have that "defining" skill in either a Primary or Secondary position. So, if you wish to be the voice of the Necromancers on the Council, you must have Necro in either a Prime or a Secondary slot. The same is true for the Druids (Animal Lore in either Prime or Second) and the Wizards (Magery in Prime or Second).

The people who want to serve on the Council MUST be an Upstart, they MUST post their skillsets and they MUST clearly indicate that they wish to be considered for the ballot for a given qualifying Sect.

All Upstarts are welcome to participate in the voting, and this "self-nomination" process will last until Monday, August 18th, 2003 at midnight EST.

On Tuesday, August 19th, 2003, I will start a separate thread indicating for all to see who is running for Council for each of the Sects. The votes should be cast here on the boards. (I will ask Drocket if we can make the voting private by using a poll but I cannot make any guarantees.) That voting process will last two weeks and end at midnight EST on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003.

On Wednesday, September 3rd, 2003, I will post the names of the members of the Council of Three.

Please post below this thread if you wish to be considered. Also, please post any questions here. Thanks for reading!

I respectfully withdraw my nomination for candidate.

I also wish to remove myself from membership into the Upstarts - internal pressure and compromisations of character after a difficult and challenging (and successful development) is not worth the future trouble it will cause.

I will now focus my attentions solely on my own personal pursuits.

I hope the Upstarts continue to prosper.

Marius - Does this mean you will be returning the gold and other equipment that the upstarts gave you? Since you quit after 2 days, this looks a little suspicious to me. I look forward to hearing from you.

He may be a megalomaniac, but at least he's honest. ;)

I merely do not consider myself a thief. There is no point to stealing.

Unless the word Kingdom is involved. But then it's not really stealing.. more.. Usurping.

I have removed myself from the pettiness of WoD.. so if you shed a tear for dear, departed Marius then know that I scorn you from ... where-ever it is that I am.

I doubt I should be returning to WoD (as Marius) any time soon, not that anyone cares for the loss of a villian! It would take something truly remarkable to bring me back.

Bah! I shall plot from ... where-ever it is that I am ... and return! Then the world shall know my fury!

Know that I am watching you!

now Janus, there's no need to call WoD petty.. nothing about it is petty.. an I myself find that comment uncalled for an ignorant.

Xelio Valquest

Primes: Invocation/Magery/Lockpicking
Seconds:Magic Resist/Meditation/Necromancy

Trade: Scribe (former Fisherman but swithched for the benefit of the group :))

Although I qualify for both the Wizardry and Necomancy seat, I am only wish to be considered for the Wizardry position. I believe I need more training in the dark magical arts before accepting a position of leadership in this group.

Thank you for your time

It was meant in a megalomaniacial I-am-better-than-everything-way. A humourous jest, if you well.

(More importantly, it was in character)

Out of character, I apologise if I have offended you. WoD is a wonderful place and fun to boot, and I'd hardly call it petty. However, Marius would. Future comments to Marius should be directed at Marius, not Janus.

I do not wish to further fill up this important thread with needless commentary on the finer points of Marius.

Please private message me instead and let the Upstarts have their thread back.
