You know that little key you get in your main pack when you place your boat in the water?
Well, first of all, it is just named "a copper key". It would be nice if it was named so you could tell it apart from others if, god forbid, you opened your key-chain while that boat key was in your back. But that's not a big deal.
But, that key seems to behave like other keys. In other words, if you double-click it you get a targetting cursor, just like you would if you were going to copy another key using a blank. This seems dangerous to me. I didn't actually try copying another key with it because then my boat might be permanently stuck in the water. hehe
Now, for something a bit more creative.... What if, when you double-click that key, you get the coordinates of your boat's location? That way, if someone recalls off their boat and then can't remember where they left it (or leaves it by the shore to do a Tmap, forgets, and then gates out, etc.), they would be able to find it again using the key (and maybe a little help from someone else with a boat).
But what if boats were a bit like henchies and pets in this one respect: if you Recall off of it, the boat automatically gets drydocked and put in your main pack? There would still be other situations in which getting the coordinates from d-clicking the key might be useful, but that one change might prevent a lot of boats from getting stranded out in the middle of nowhere.
What about an "Autoswab" feature? If you give this command to your Tillerman when you board the boat, he will know to check for loot and/or owned items, but otherwise to go ahead and swab the deck every so often. I imagine this would have to be done in a radius around the tilerman, so any loot lying on the water nearby would stop it from working until you looted it... but it sounds doable, if slightly dangerous.
Ok, I am gonna sneak in another Friday wish here... since Drocket has been changing artwork left and right recently... any chance we can get boats with different colored sails? Maybe a small gump where we could choose from a limitted set of colors?
