Ok, I ran into my first chest that was locked yesterday, and I have to say it sucks. Point blank it bites, there isn't a person other than Ciara that can keep up with me when I treasure hunt, not bragging here just stating fact. I would like to ask if the useless unlock spell could be made more useful depending on the invoc of the mage casting. Opening a 1st through 3rd level chest with the spell would not be over powering to the cartographer, and finaly the spell would be more than a space taker in the spell books.

Hrm, I thought Drocket suggested that 60 lockpicking would probabaly be enough to pick lower level chests, or maybe you'll just have to find a way to fit picking in at least as a secondary.

Lockpicking should be reclassified as a trade skill so we can drop whatever useful thing we have in that slot and put LP in it.

No need to because you can always put carto there.

Carto is great for decoding maps but if the chest you dig up can't be picked it doesn't do much good.

That´s why a treasure hunter should have picking as prime. Picking is way too profitable to be a trade skill.

That is quite true. If a picker did not have to sacrifice some combat or protective skills in favor of their chosen profession then it would just be too easy. Ok, just regard my previous remarks as whining. hehehe

Why pick a rotted old burried lock that can easily be busted open with a pckaxe, or knocked off with a hammer.
