self confrontation
Posted: Sun May 02, 2004 4:34 pmHail o' denizens of the wonderful place we call WoD. Early this morn I spent a few hours teaching evil creatures manners in Shame. I started at the top and worked my way down until I had cleared out nearly everything that moved. The only thing I didn't do was clean up those little islands on the bottommost level.
At one point, I was just about to open a chest when a tearing sensation washed across me, as if I was being split in two. My vision blurred and then doubled. Darlin, my faithful horse, rapidly backed up and I beheld my own self. But, this self's face was twisted with an evil mocking smile and the other Darlin's eyes glowed red.
The evil Bayn attacked and I was hard put to hold my own, against myself, if that makes any sense. Still, I really wanted to erase that evil smile from his face. I looked up at the ceiling with horror and said, "Not that!!" and naturally the evil Bayn glanced upwards. With a deft movement I slipped a greater explosion potion into his pocket. He looked back at me and laughed, "You must be desperate to fake me out like that. Die now and I will live forever!"
Just then, the potion went off and knocked nearly every bit of armor off him. I finished him off with a couple well placed blows of my hammerpick (my long used, well loved waraxe finally shattered this morn) and cringed back from the pale, green corpse that sprawled on the dank floor of the cavern. Ewww, maggots slithered moistly over the rapidly decomposing body.
I fear that Xandebaric, whomever that is, has generated a horrible evil. He didn't try to control my mind but this obsenity that attacked me may have been under his control.
