Shabooli Spy spotted in Serps

There I was, quietly scribing at my home in Serpent's Hold, when on the wall outside I see a Shabooli Spy. I quickly buffed and went looking for him, but after covering the entire isle, no luck.

From the Penn-Hedley III Hunt Lecture Series, Lecture 9:

"I must confess that I find solo-hunting at the Shabooli Fort to be a galvanizingly frightening experience. Their sneaky hiding capability and tendency to jump you in large groups really keeps the old heart pumping. Hrmph. Or not.

I made extensive use of my tracking skills- focusing on one particular Shabooli at a time and moving toward him one tiny step at a time until he shows himself. Or another Shabooli does it first. Or both. Or lots. I do not solo fight Shaboolis inside the Shabooli Fort. It’s too dangerous, and besides they always sue you for damages to the furniture and Shabooli lawyers are SUCH savages!
Hrmph.
At any rate, I drag the chosen Shabooli outside the fort before fighting it.
Shabooli:
I actually killed four of these chaps at the fort. Shaboolis must share some bloodlines with the Picts and Scots back home, based on their blue appearance and their kilt/skirts. And attitudes.
The four I slew had only 44-78 gold (average of 63). They each had a skirt, a spear and a few pints of blood. 2 of them had one other item each. Right. Scottish.
Shabooli Archer:
I got just one. 110 gold, a bow, a skirt, and blood.
At about this time, I met a nice lady. We had a pleasant chat and a cup of tea while I slaughtered the natives. I wrote her name on a notepad, but I must have eaten it with my tea, mistaking it for a day-old crumpet. If she is here at the lecture, I hope she will introduce herself- when I am through, of course.
Shabooli Warlock:
These guys are really really really nasty. I hate water strikes and bees and paralysis and these guys hand out those spells like insurance agents hand out business cards. I managed to kill one, though. He was carrying 156 gold, a skirt and druid staff, blood, some leather armor, a magic wand, a tool, and a dagger.
Shabooli Witchdoctor: I don’t find these guys nearly as tough as warlocks. They like to summon fire elementals. I killed 2 with 114 and 121 gold. They each had blood (theirs’ not mine) and a dagger. One also had a skirt and a potion.
Shabooli Assassin:
My last trophy of the hunt was this sneak-among-sneaks. I was not particularly impressed by him. He carried 53 gold, a skirt and spear and blood- and a potion. The assassination business must be as slow as internet retail."

There are also Shabooli Chieftains. Once you kill the Shabooli, their horses (Shabooli warhorses) will then attack you. With high taming skill (it's not mentioned in the manual exactly HOW high) you can tame the beasts.

I highly recommend the Penn-Headley III Lecture series to ANYONE who hasn't read them. Very entertaining AND informative.

:( *misses Homer*

I miss Homer too. I didn't really know him too well, although I feel that I did. His writings were amazing. (And his obits gave me a giggle on a regular basis). Maybe one day he'll come back!
