oops, not again

Postby Phillip on Tue Feb 11, 2003 3:15 am

Ok, this time its not my fault.

My late teacher in magic, Golda, left no heir. And so, since I knew her best, it was put to me to decide how to distrubute her belongings. Her home was sparse but for the books we so often studied over, no other valuables to be found oddly. Golda was a reknowned mage after all. Not like myself who... well I won't embarrass myself again over the details, but I'm not as couragous as some. :oops:

Anyway, I decided to donate all the books to a library, but among them I found one less academic though still cryptic. And in the book was a key! I may not be brave, but I'm clever enough when it comes to mathmagics. I believe the book holds coordinates, perhaps to where Golda hid her treasure:!:

Well, I'm not much of an adventurer, but after the great success with the dragons I thought, "Maybe the good people of Britain could help me find the treasure." So I headed out to the Moonglow moongate, straight to Britain and the bank/commons. Except I was waylaid on the road by a brigand. :shock:

"Give me all you money" he yelled. That bandit had a large bladed object pointed at me. I gave him everything I had even the Golda's book and key. "Come back when you have more money!" he shouted as he ran into the woods. Well, its back to hiding under my bed. :(

I'm never leaving the house again! If some brave adventures could rid us of the bandit menace they can go after Golda's treasure themselves. just Please do not go alone. There may be more than one bandit. :|

Sir Phillip:

Ogden, Oraken (sp?), Nicodemous (sp?), Fonro, and myself went to investigate, yet found nothing.

We have most likely checked the wrong places but your directions turned out to be hard to follow.
We checked all around the Moonglow moongate, cleared the lower brigand fort along the road from Trinsic to Britain, and followed that road all the way to Britain, and yet we found nothing.

Any more specifc directions would help, and we will try again tomorrow, Thanks :)

Oh that brigand jumped me after I left the moongate and got on the road into town. I imagine that brignad is part of someoperation in that area. Perhaps someone already recovered the key and book though. I hope they tell me how things turned out soon.

When visiting Benson, I was looking around and opened his chest of drawers, where I found a book named x=2, and it is written by this Golda. It reads:
a+1180, b+2668
c=240
d=1935

Would this be the book you lost Phillip?

Ah yes, yes indeed, that is the book that ruffian stole from me. I guess you took care of him though. Did you find the key that was in the book as well? I imagine you will need it to find the Golda's treasure.

Well, maybe its safe to come out from under my bed, though I don't think I'll leave my home again for some time.

Seems like there was only the book (x=1). Haven't noticed any keys in my bag, but I'm not sure if that key was sold when I sold my loot. Hope not... :|

*Covenant Atei*

I went "book and key hunting" myself last evening, and all I found was some ill-tempered adept mages, named mages, pirates and brigands. I do have a magic key in my possession and have had it for quite a while.

Perhaps that is the key you seek?

I say we just get a big group and go out and kill everything we come to till we find what we need. Sound good to everyone?

key locked chest found

Postby Genjimoto on Thu Feb 13, 2003 8:45 pm

Hello people, I followed the directions of the 11th and 12th book, it lead me to the trampers huts of vesper.. aka the praed camp ne of vesper. Found a Pred lord, thinking me and my henchie could take it, we attacked it. My henchie died, i used a daemon to distract the lord while i went and ressed my henchie. a few times of this.. until the lord killed him again.. i used my daemon.. and the pred lord was still attacking me. Ran, right into a group of shadow people. Had to recall out.

I rallied a group to the bank, and we managed to get to the huts, slaughtered them. Unfortunately, all that was left of my henchie was my staff of power. many armour pieces of fortifiaction as well as a tunic of anatomy.. gone.

We did find a key locked chest, however.. so its not a total loss. I just hope i win the rolls for the magic items within.

I will be on prior to my wedding, Genji. If you have this mystery chest, we can try my key on it.
