Teleporter outside Covetous

Does anyone know why there is a teleporter outside the enterance of Covetous? I tried to use it but it wouldn't send me anywhere. Is this leftover from a quest? or is it part of a new quest that hasn't been activated yet?

I assume you are referring to the landing pad from asking a NPC mage to gate you to a dungon.

Those little pads are near all the dungeons now thanks to the mage gates that can be purchased.
I've gotten a new appreciation of some of the out of the way places now that I don't have to sail there or ask for a gate.

Oh ok, I didn't realize that they actually put these down for that. I hadn't used them yet, so I just assumed that they would just a normal gate spell.
