In Moonglow I stopped by Nox's shop and picked up a bag of dungeon runes. By gosh, I was going to go to a dungeon and tame myself another dragon!
Nox was there and we chatted a bit. He gave me a pink dragon deed (that's a deed for a pink dragon, mind you, must be a girl!) and then he suggested we do some guard quests. I didn't decline Nox's pink dragon because, as you know, Nox is an assassin and you NEVER are anything but respectful to assassins.
Plus, with my track record so far, I probably needed spares.
Ok, back to guard quests. Whoof, I had stayed away from "dangerous" things so far but I figured, you only die once, or twice, or a few dozen times. So, we headed out and first went to Vesper graveyard to get "something", I can't remember. It was wild there! Vampire Lords, assassins, vamps of all kinds and other fell creatures swarming about. Nox induced our prey out of the graveyard somehow (he was plaguing and told me to get away so I missed that part) and we, along with a LOT of help from other friendly adventurers, managed to polish off most of the baddies in the immediate vicinity.
Next quest was to Minoc where a dragon was running rampant. Aha! Just what I wanted, a test for my taming skills. The dragon wasn't too happy with me trying to tame it at first but I finally calmed him down and I christened him Whyne, in memory of my dear departed first dragon. Whyne is a deep red color rather than red/purple but that is ok.
Next, we had to carry out a rescue mission at Wind. My oh my, my head is whirling by now. I said, "uh, sure.. why not...fine with me...you're in charge.."
Ciara spoke to me over the etheric waves and asked to come along and also mentioned she had something for me. Hmmm, what could that be? All the WoDrs are so very nice, I cuoldn't imagine it.
We gated to the entrance of Wind and Nox ressed Thane. Then he gated in Ciara and she came up and handed me a stuffed dragon for my mantle at home! That was SO sweet, I could hardly express my thanks and whatever I said was certainly not enough. Ciara, I appreciate that SO much and will always treasure it.
In Wind, we traveled about with me mainly trying to keep Whyne out of everyones way. First time for me to be there! There were lots of wizards that were upset about us coming in there so we just had to kill 'em, what else can you do?
Eventually we made it to the "Garden", or the "Zoo"? I think we called it the Zoo back on a previous world. It was utter mayhem there. Whew. Thane (I hope I got that name right!) had his dragon (Nox ressed it) and I had Whyne and we kept them busy. Unfortunately, everyone had lag problems and Thane and I kept losing connection. I was so very surprised (and pleased) that I came back alive each time. Talk about lucky. Must have been Nox's influence.
I don't think the group was too happy with me when a wizard cast explosion on me and I ran away from him right back to the group. Sorry all! I didn't know I had a time bomb on me! This was right after I had "come back" after fading from the scene and I was a mite confused.
Eventually, we killed everything that moved and my heart started to slow down a bit. Ciara had departed and my ole ticker couldn't take much more. Thane had recovered most of his stuff but lost some clothing, buffs and stuff I think.
All in all, an invigorating, exciting adventure. I know that for most of you, that is your normal day but it was the most I have done to date. The most close calls too..whew...
