Four notes...what a busy night!

Postby Crozius on Sat Oct 04, 2003 2:29 am

Well, it started out when I was bored of doing guard quests with Crozius, and decided to relax, kick back in my boat and go fishing with Cyrus.

First, I went to the bank in Britain, where I saw a few familiar faces, and for once, I didn't ask for a nice mage to buff me. I figured "ah, it's fishing! I'll be good." So, I gated to Jhelom, like I always do - just because fishing there is so much easier (only need to sail forward).

I arrived in my favourtie fishing town, only to be greeted by about 15 or so angry townspeople. Now, to Cyrus, this is quite the scene. I killed one, and then ran ahead to see what was in store for me. Then, seeing even more trouble, I recalled back to birt and told some people. I msg'd Nox and Belle, and Damascus came with me. When we got there, Nox, Adonis and Belle had most of the mess cleared up but we still had a few stragglers to kill. After everything was killed, Belle was given the note and I went fishing.

The second adventure was in Moonglow, and fortunately I was on as Crozius. I got a message from Egbad to come and help him and his son in Moonglow, so I went. When I showed up, all seemed fairly well, until I met up with the two warriors. They were fending off several pirates, and then out of the bushes sprung necromancers, archers, brigands and the like! It took a little getting used to - fighting with them - but we seemed to learn each others ways of playing quite quickly, which was a good thing. Especially when the necro summoned a daemon, which was un-dispell-able. So, we took care of that mess, and split up. Here is what that note said:

"Gather the faithful to the secret stronghold. The time foretold to us draws near
."

Upon coming back from my trip to moonglow, I went to the bank in Britain, once again. I walked in and anncouned to everyone in the room "Moonglow was just under attack." Then, my food friend Edison replied "We just got back from Skara." He was with Simon Van Gothe. Simon handed me a note, and this is what it said:

"Bring the faithful to the stronghold in Yew. The time foretold is at hand. Camps have been set up along the way."

We then got word that Vesper was under atk, so we went that way. With a bunch of us (Ed, Simon, Ogden, Sach and myself (sorry if I forgot someone) we dispatched the angry people with easy. The note here said:

"We have arranged transport for your people to come to Yew. Gather at the secret place. Set sail at once. The time draws near!"

Lastly, the night "of four times" (Friends, anyone?) ended as Edison, Simon, Ogden, Sach, and myself (sorry if I forgot someone :( ) went to Yew, to see what all the fuss was about. Of course, we ran into even more angry people. But, seeing as we had at least 2 vetrans (don't know how long Sach has played for, so I'm just saying Ed and Ogden are the vetrans) the search ended really quickly. We regrouped in Brit, and I was assigned the duty of the write up, seeing as I was at 3 of the 4 invasions. The note in Yew said:

*** due to technical difficulties, I can't post this one. I'm having a rough time getting into UO right now, but it was basically the same as the others***

Well, looks like Jasper was right. Yew is what they're after. The attack is soon everyone. Be on your highest alert, keep your regs heavily stocked, your scrolls numerous, armour and weapons in tip-top shape, and don't forget to keep bandys and potions handy. Lots of em.

According to what I've been told, the invasion continues in Yew. I guess we'll find out after the restart...

Very intriguing. Back in the very beginning there was mention of a secret place in Yew. I checked out the crypts back then but they were basically empty.

Hmmm...outside of the crypts, what else is around there? I haven't really explored the countryside in detail. Guess I'll take a walkaround tomorrow and see what I can see.

We checked the prison in Yew, and found nothing. We also checked the Abby, and found only the Brothers. There was a small room in the Abby with a locked door. It contained an ankh. Has this door always been locked? An ankh would be a likely item used as a teleporter...to a secret underground lair...

I plan on checking out the peninsulas north of the Yew moongate today, as well as the roads leadingtoward Yew. If the pirates and brigands are moving toward Yew, they may be making camps along the way on small islands and coastal beaches.

Yes, I imagine the brigand camps down the road from Yew are quite active.

The locked door, probably ultimately locked I would imagine so even a 110 LP individual wouldn't have the chance to pick it.

I think someone's thought about gathering at the Yew bank rather than Britain bank is a good one, at least for the next several days or so.

If I remember correctly , when I first started playing WOD ; my friend Fentiger took me on a tour around the world ( as I had never played before ).As I was saying I seem to remember a secret room/cave under ground to the west of Yew town near the sea . It cannot be seen from the land but you can enter it by walking on the ground above . It is not very big BUT it is big enough for someone ( like a prophet )to hide inside giving out his orders ......Just a thought !!
