Flame War? Is that when we get together and cook shadowpack dogs on the end of a poker over a roasting fire?? :?

Getting back to the original subject: Any hides should be turned in in the next couple of days to count towards the contest. I'll be picking the winner Monday night/Tuesday morning (probably.)

And the winner is...

...

...

...

Aelfwine!

I don't think he's ever posted here on the forums, so I don't know if he reads them. If you see him online, tell him congratuations and that his prize is in his bankbox :)

Everyone who participated in this quest will find their booby prize in their bank box, a nice shiny new tea kettle.

The total number of shadowpack hides turned in during the contest is... another contest! Yep, that's right, everyone gets another chance to win a prize. The person who comes closest to guessing the total number of hides turned in without going over wins a magical Benson potion.

To enter your guess, simply type '.guess #' while you're in-game, where # is your guess. Good luck! :)

When does the guessing contest end?
And can you list the people who turned in the highest number of hides? *curious*

Oops, forgot to mention when its ends :) This Friday night. Then I'll tell you how many hides were turned in and the top few people (well, not their names, for the same reason I don't reveal the top few playtime people.)

And now a bit of a spoiler for next month: There isn't going to be a large, month-long event for May. Instead, May is going to be tradeskill competition month. We'll be running a series of smaller contests related to different crafting and harvesting skills (I can't promise we'll get to all of them, but we should at least come up with something for most of them.) I'm also planning to make several additions/enhancements to the tradeskills to make them a bit more involving.

Perhaps this kind of content could be in the Quest forum, seeing that it's quest-like and all? I don't know how many people will look at the back-end of the shadowpack thread for this kind of information, and I'm sure that if we all wrote more in the Quest forum, it'd be for all players, new and old, to quickly get at it.

Actually, you're probably right: it being on the tail end of a huge thread like this probably isn't the best place for it. I'm not too sure about posting it on the quest forum, though. I tend to prefer that remains 'in-character' sort of discussions, and this really isn't.

Not too many people have entered the contest so far, it seem, so I'm guessing they probably haven't seen it. So, since I want everyone to have a chance to compete, I'm going to repost the contest announcement in a new thread and extend it a couple of days. Sorry about that :P
