If you are walking around and you bump something that is casting a shadow over it, and the sun makes contact with it, you better run. It will instantly run for your shadow....and scream the whole time it's chasing you.

Phoo those are nothing. have you ever seen what passes for ants in australia?

charming things called bulldog ants. got a set of choppers on one end would do a pitbull proud, the other end has a sting like a wasp, they jump like grasshoppers and they will chase you 50 feet and more away from the nest. oh yeah there can be upwards of a hundred of them after you if you disturb the nest.

i understand even cane toads won't try to eat them.

Those ants are nasty if cane toads won't even eat them. Ugh, Toads. Disgusting.
