UO Client keeps crashing

Postby Azalin4savioR on Tue Jun 29, 2004 3:33 am

Ok I had to finally format to get rid of that bug I posted about earlier, now ofcourse after I have installed UO I notice two things that werent going on when I had UO installed the last time. First of all the minor one is, I cant play UO now unless the disc is in the cd tray, thats no biggie just different from before, and a little annoying.

As for the client crashing, anytime I click on my paper doll and go to options I cant change a single thing on the options part or UO completely crashes and nothing gets changed, which sucks because I cant play UO unless I change those settings. This is the error message its giving me:

Filemanager::openfile'uobscene.lst' was opened before, but cannot open again. Check for illegal access mode.

When I installed UO the very first time I got this error message too, but it like corrected itself after a few attempts and everything has been fine, but well now it wont correct itself, and I dont have any idea how to correct it, please if someone knows something let me know! I need my UO fix bad!!!

I wanted to add that I updated the client fully, installed all the WOD files just as th website said, everything is exactly like it was when I had it all installed before, except for the few changes I noted!

bah no time to sit around and wait I need my fix tonight so I just formated the games drive again (has a complete diff drive for video games setup) and reinstalled UO again, the problem is fixed, I dunno about it requiring a CD yet or not though, the disc was in when I started!

I noticed that when I have had to reinstall, some of the files come in "read-only" format and have to be changed to "archive" format or they can't be used by the client. Just something to check.
