I gated to Trinsic to check out the beach. I thought I'd check to see if sand dwellers were about and if not, I'd catch some rays!
There were certainly many sand dwellers evident and they had already staked out the best sunbathing areas and were highly indignant that I might want to join them.
I summoned some earth elemetals to assist me since there were probably 60 or more sand dwellers, soldiers, brutes and archers surrounding me. It took quite awhile and a few nicely timed earthquake spells but I managed to polish off all aggressives. Just as I was finishing up, someone else joined and helped send the last sandy people to their sandy resting places.
I then visited Magincia and I was somewhat awed at the population of sand dwellers on the beach. The entire area was swarming with them! Just as an idea of the ones closest to me:

And these were just the ones nearest me, I had the entire beach out of sight still!
I notified Edison of the situation and set to work. He let me know that he and a party were clearing the Vesper beaches.
I lost track of time, of the number of campfires I built away from the battle, the dozens of earth elementals I summoned, the bodies I looted and eventually ran out of earthquake scrolls! I had filled three bags full of loot and decided to grab some more scrolls because there were still dozens of sand dwellers left. Not hundreds anymore but still a fair amount and too many for me to handle without all my magical paraphenalia.
I had to leave behind stacks of unlooted bodies sice they were surrounded by still quite lively sandy friends who were pounding on my elementals but I knew I would be to the bank to retrieve scrolls and back into action in no time!
I was surprised when I got back to see Edison, Kale Greeneye and many others battling the foe! They all worked quietly, in concert and were very focused so I picked off the edges of the horde of dwellers and sent my ellys in to assist wherever needed.
Eventually, all but just a few of the sand dwellers were slain and the valiant troupe of mages and warriors were focused on finishing them off so I returned home to attend to harvesting my crops, a task I had meant to do earlier.
As I was picking ears of corn I sorted through some of the loot I had gained and found a note I had taken from the body of a brute of a sand dweller that said, "...to create an indestructable army."
Regardless of their sheer numbers, the sand dwellers have no real chance. I alone was able to account for a couple hundred or more of them and when you get a disciplined team such as Edison, Kale, Atei and whomever else came to Magincia tonight, working against them, it only takes patience and time.
I'll be hours getting the sand out of my clothes, boots and underwear though..damn stuff gets everywhere!
