Tragedy Averted, So we hope!
Posted: Thu Jul 10, 2003 12:48 amWhile Azzo Ranar and I were hunting the everpresent branubians near despise, we uncovered a book on a branubian captain, titled Black Slate, by Gruedon.
Its contents are:
Baranubians and Shabooli:
It was believed that Ciara had the last component in her posession to repair the Interspatial Transporter. One of our spies found this to be untrue. At one time she had the a component. That would be the Nox Crystals. Nox Starfire has those and other components in his posession. We still must concentrate on aquiring these components from him no matter what technique we use. But now we still must concentrate on locating the last component that is missing. This would be the Rubbing plates. They may still be lost somewhere in this world. We may never find them. Our Deltachronologists informed me that there is another substance in Britannia that may possibly work. This would be Black Slate. And jusdging from history in our era, the only ones that may have posession of this Black Slate would be a corrupt group of miners. They don't call anyplace their home but we found out where some are located at this time. That area would be located where the old Praetorian fort was standing. We hear that they were trying to rebuild this place as a hideout for them. Or a place they can call their focal point. there are no mountains very close to this fort but this fort would be a place for them to stay when they are on the road and in that part of the world. No one ever goes to this fort anymore since the Praetorians were forced out of there. Form several units and locate them. If they have the Black Slate, we need to get it from them. With the being corrupt, maybe we can strike a deal with them.

After finding this book, Azzo and I decided to adventure forth and see if we could find these corrupt miners and see about gaining control of this new component to keep it away from the branubians. After gating to the area of the old Praetorian fort, we were accosted by a few corrupt miners, but they were quickly dispatched. At this time Azzo told me he had to leave for a while, and I was joined by Gift Krieger. Gift and I started making our way through these corrupt miners, when I received a call from Chastain, an old aquaintance of mine, and fellow practitioner of the arcane arts. Chastain joined us and we were off and running on a complete rout of the corrupt miner forces stationed in the old Praetorian fort. After what seemed many hours, and probably was, we had vanquished many hundreds of miners and came across this mystical rock called Black Slate. Figuring we had now secured the component the branubians were looking for, Gift and I left the area, while Azzo chose to remain behind and cleanse the world of some more miners, who were still plentiful around the old Praetorian fort.
This Black Slate is currently in the posession of Gift, and will remain under watchful eye and safekeeping until such time as we no longer need to worry about these branubians.
