Thanks for the party!

Postby Henna on Fri Aug 06, 2004 3:31 am

Last night, several members of the shard gathered at Aislin's house to throw a birthday party for Scott. It was a GREAT party, and I just want to thank Aislin for hosting it. :) Scott lorded over the madness from his purple throne, while the guests attempted to entertain him. (Though I'm not sure how much entertainment Zan's newly shaved legs were. :?) The gifts were as varied as the guests, ranging from an "Island of Terror" put together by Edward and Zinaya, where, after getting Scott to take his clothes off, they finally managed to get him to die (Sorry to have missed that scene... but I was rather busy at that moment having the MOST lovely tea party with Aislin and Bronwyn); to a sent-from-afar kiss from Tristan; to the head of Queen Lissar herself. I enjoyed every minute of it, and had no doubts that Aislin would pull off another great party, since the last one was such a blast. In fact, this time, I took notes, so that someday I might to aspire to throw an equally magnificent party. And, because I am not selfish, I hereby share my notes with all of you. So, with out further ado, allow me to present....

Henna's Party Dos and Don'ts:

DO decorate exquisitely. A festive atmosphere can start everything off right. Purple is very 'in' this year, you can never have too much of it. And the most fashion conscious guests will fit right in.

DO have coordinating party hats available to all attendants. Britania has many fine tailors, take advantage of their talents!

DO make sure to have more than enough refreshments for all the guests. 500 bottles of wine should just about do it.

DON'T use those brand new, fancy, imported rugs as carpeting without first enchanting them with "Vomit Resistance", or they'll be absolutely ruined.

DO check all musical instruments at the door, lest a drunk and ambitious party-goer attaches himself to a badly tuned one and demonstrates his less-than-concert-worthy ability to play with his tongue, and causes half the guests to be sick. (Or was that the wine?)

DON'T send the one player on the shard who has a knack at dying to go and bring back Mob's to entertain the guests. You'll just have to go rescue him, thus ruining the surprise.

DON'T try to fish on a three person island with four people.

DO make sure you have proper personal items of the birthday boy out for display. Pink dresses work extremely well.

DO make sure there is never a dull moment. Parties like this will be the talk for days!

*******

Thanks again for the GREAT party Aislin, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Scott!

*hugs*

LMAO...as long as i live i will never throw a party without inviting Henna first. Henna has a knack for party recaps that make Joan Rivers jealous. Great job, sweetie. No party is complete without the Henna Party scoop. Sweetie...you should start your own column.

P.S. Donations are being taken for Edward's death taxes...send money c/o Dragons Anonymous.

The hats were a great idea(ah hemmm), my legs were very entertaining, and my karaoke and instrumentations were extaordinary. Great party.

I'm gutted I missed it. But it's hard being in the wrong timezone, when the party takes place at 4am and I have to be in work :(
