I vote yes. They have a backpack; don't they?

I'm pretty sure that pets who were carrying stuff dropped it on the ground where they were stainding when stabled. That was long ago now though, may or may not still be the case.

Yeah, a dragon will drop anything he is carrying when you stable it.
