Well El, valid points all but this is more of a "Had to be there" sort of thing. Our group, including at least 4 to 6 good mages, started at the bank heading south. Not one of our group was buffed cuz quite frankly there wasn't enough mana between the mages to shake a stick at. They had to worry more about keeping the 8 plus tanks, me included which isn't saying much, alive and healed. As simon was saying, it's a mater of one or two hit before you are down. Combine that with the size of the creature and the sheer number of them jumping out of hiding at once just made for a horrible exsperience that may have made maybe one legend (the Bunnies) but made many dead players.

My group (and by my group I mean the people I was with) seemed to do quite fine, even against 2 or more of the critters. It all boils down to teamwork, knowing when to retreat, and good strategy. Cath, Cedrik, Ben, and Gall were busy healing. Gall also debuffed them. Atei, Bayn, me, and other were tanking. I do not think they were too impossible, as a matter of fact, it was a very fun quest to come back to after a little hiatus. WoD needs a challenge every now and then. This was a perfect chance for it to show up. For those who died umpteenth times. If they were too hard, why did you keep on going back? If it was to get all of your stuff, that's understandable (and I'm sorry if anyone lost anything that night). But if it was to try to keep on fighting them, that's your fault, and not the seers. Also one last thing, gold isn't hard to get, ask the oldbies how to make money. Soon you'll be swimming in it :P

I did Gate Buster to Magincia but he decided to come back for some reason and died. :)

It would have been more "fun" possibly if there had been loot comparable to the ferocity of the foe.

It was fun watching dead bunnies float. :)

One bunny held us up and yeah we were working as a team... so yeah i would say it was overkill.

You always could have run like the blazes for the bank or other area. The bunnies are fast but they can be outrun.

I know you must have misunderstood me. We tried making our way to the bank to team up with the mages there, we seen 3 maybe 4 bunnies pulled one off and tried to kill it. The road to the bank was blocked w/ 2 or more bunnies that i knew of, we had pulled one away and couldn't even manage to hurt it. The funny thing is i ask Bayn(you) for help but none came. We lost heart after 7 or 8 deathtolls in a row and went home.

A last note

Postby Mistress_Cat on Sat Oct 11, 2003 11:15 pm

I would like to note, also, that I am very sorry I could not have been there during that time to help, and that in posting here I am rather contradicting myself. ...Although, on that note, I would probably have been of very little help from the sound of it.
Nevertheless, I say we all do what we can to keep Britain a safe place for all, and continue to stick together as a community of players and as companions.
There is no need to bicker any longer about events passed-- we shall all honour those who fought and look forward to a brighter time in our world.
Blessed be,

I also messaged several people (except I was asking if they needed help) and got no reply. I think people were just too busy to reply to messages. I was out fishing with Iarwain "Ben" Afar when I saw the death spam rolling in. I decided to head for shore ASAP and recall to Brit in case a rescue was forming there. Little did I know... hehe. I was targetted by two bunnies as soon as I recalled in and barely escaped into the bank. But they were so fast they managed to follow me inside! I kept blasting them and running and kinda managed to rebuff at one point but they got me inside the bank after just a few minutes. :(

Soon after I got rezzed and got myself together. First thing I did was find out where most players were and stuck to them like glue! I did die a couple more times before we all started working together smoothly, but then it was doable, as SS said.

I think several things made this especially tough: The darn things were tough to target! It wasn't so much keeping their bars up as getting them in the first place.

They came right up to the bank and attacked before people had a chance to buff. This might be viewed as "unfair" but invaders rarely are fair. ;)

They were individually so tough that you couldn't solo them... and two or three on you spelled death unless you had multiple mages healing you. Well, that's different than many of us are used to. Most of us don't hunt Ancient Dragons regularly (and certainly not several of them together at once), so it required some adjustment to figure out how to deal with them. We are used to large numbers of mobs posing the problem, not just a few really tough ones. In fact, I think some of them were significantly tougher than Ancients, at least the added poisoning ability made it seem that way!

So, it was really tough, and many lives were lost... and many people got frustrated. It happens sometimes.

Once in a while you need a really big challenge to find out what your limits are. I think we all found out we did have limits and have to depend on others (large, burly, mean-looking groups of others) to help defend us. :D

If anybody lost anything they are having trouble recovering from, send me a message in-game and I will do my best to see if I can help you find a replacement.

Be careful out there everyone! :)

Awww, if you paged me I didn't see it. We were probably in a major battle during that time and all was chaos. Either that or I was dead. :)
Last I heard from you is when you paged me and asked what was going on and I informed you about the bunnies. Sorry I didn't see it!

It's alright man, I'm not trying to start a flame war or something, people were saying how the tanks and mages should pair up and fight, but i was just saying we couldn't get to the mages and didn't stand a chance alone w/ just two tanks

Well, perhaps if I had had sufficient poisoning skill we could have taken it. I used to solo all kinds of dragons back in the day...

*reminiscent sigh*
